Who’s trimmed away the OEM rear shock bracket for the lower control arm, utilizing the replacement 6pk shock bracket. Obvious clearance improvement, question is, how has the remaining bracket held up or needs reengineering to add skids on the bracket.

What successful stories and modifications make this upgrade worthwhile especially for technical rock crawling enthusiasts?

What challenges or issues have been encountered? Is welding a needed situation after trimming OEM lower bracket?

Thoughts, comments, suggestions, before and after pictures, post wheeling situations… I know a spot on Gold Mountain (Big Bear) I grind bracket and could use the extra clearance.

Every install I’ve done of this lift, I cut that crap off of there. Nothing special needed.

Seems right. I’ve got a cutoff wheel that will take care off it. Appreciate the pics as well.

I too cut the horns off when I installed the GC 3.5" 6-packs on my 2012 JKU. And i used the same mounting location when I went back to Fox 2.5 DSC's. No issues either way. But i think MC used a different lower mounting bracket back then.

Sorry, no pic's readily available.
