I'm scheming my next mods. However, I need to make sure I fit into parking garages. Some of you pioneers have decked out your ride. Can you tell me what your total height is please. To the hard top.

IIRC I'm 6'6" to top of soft top, which bows up a little more. My rule for parking garages is 6'8".

With mytop softtop, 3” aev hd dual rate(4”gain), 37 patagonia @36 psi
6’7”
You will need 2.5-3” lift to keep 37 from rubbing, tried really hard to do it with 2” on stock Sahara fenders and the liners were just a little to tight

Yes, she was Sahara 4xe on 37”…sadly she looks like this now. After being tboned and flipped. Everyone walked away with only scratches, insurance bought us a new one.

Ahh that sucks, I’m really sorry, glad everyone is okay tho, what matters. You can always replace the Jeep not the driver.

How was it driving it with the 37s? Did you regear it or was the 4xe pushing those nicely without too much of range hit on gas and ev parts?

I just looked for the window sticker to remember the specifics. But the 21 4xe had better gears, cv deletes, with the rubicon front axle to reinforce the extra torque. She was a beast and after full steering upgrade(metal cloak), adjustable controlarms(8) rear trackbar with relocation, bilstien 5100 shocks, and the aev dual rate diesel springs 475 ftlb torque would still push her to 100mph and felt planted like a hummwv. Plus at 5 mph could do this

Thanks to the wonderful people we have met in the Jeep community we did a full rebuild in under 6 weeks for the Jeep jamboree. And a 24 4xe Willy’s performed the same with blood sweat and tears

Almost forgot, u asked about mileage, the 24 miles of electric was still about the same. 80 on the highway is 12mpg, around town 18ish. Buy the 4xe for the 475 torque and reinforcements not the mileage, this is a brick

Thank you for all that info. Glad to see you guys were up and running again after few weeks of down time. Also great to hear about the Jeep community. 12mpgs is quite the hit but obviously Jeeps aren’t about MPGs. I’m coming from a supercharged LJ with 5.13s in it. I’m thinking if regearing to something like 4.88 would bring back those MPGs back up a little to like 16-18s on the highway. I hear anything above 70-75 with even 35s kills it on the highway.

I think the Willy has 4.10s if I’m not mistaken or maybe 3.73 still.

This is almost a 4ton boat, the wider stance and makes it what it should have been from the factory and the ev boost gives it the performance. Sounds like your LJ is something to behold I’ve always said the ev is what turbo and superchargers were, a little something extra when it was needed. Here’s the Willy’s window sticker Dana44 standard on 4xe then upgrade Willy’s package takes 373 to 410 w rear locker.

Yeah the LJ was fun to drive and I wish I could keep it but with a family of 6, kids growing up, the in and out of them became a pain and they with long legs, etc, the back seat just wasn’t doing it for them. The supercharger plus 5.13s made it sweet, a bit of a rocket. I still remember this guy pulling up with his Jeep that was an JL Rubicon, all fixed up, bigger tires, like 35s, revving as we stood at the red light. My Jeep had 33s on, was stock, didn’t look like much and sure didn’t show the Supercharger or the gears in it. I didn’t have to do too much, as soon as that green light popped he took off fast but by then I was gone. Surprisingly the next red light, he decided to ask first what was under the hood LOL.

That said, I’m contemplating between 35s and 37s on my 4xe. Don’t think I’d be happy with just doing 200 miles per tank on my 4xe unless I’m all in town only but then again, I don’t do thruway much but two hours to the trail drive would kill any fuel economy I’m enjoying now. Also the stance and look is completely different even on the Saharas with 37s then goofy 35s with 3.5 lift. I might do 2 inch and 35s which would make the look similar to 3.5 and 37s but the up travel would be dumb.

However, I don’t do much trail if anything so no worries of full flex with either setup.
The other aspect I have is that the tires I chose, no matter if they are 35s or 37s, difference in weight is half a pound. So I’m still turning the same amount of mass with 35s as I would with 37s. I will probably regear in a year or two, but I don’t think I can do 12mpgs lol. Something

12 is flat out on highway, after charge is gone. Carpool was 12miles each way and never touched the gas. 18 is normal around town. Onthe trail we gained so much charge(max regen and hybrid)that very often if we go in full, even after a full day we come out 30-50% the power produced is much more than 4wd at 5mph uses and therefore there always seems like we have silent running battery, sometimes just push ev to burn some off and get strange looks running silent.
As you said 35 don’t fill wheel well right. Pinks was built over a year, we started wigh rubix takeoff springs and 34 AT. Then to 1.5 leveling kit, then to 3+ with 37 Patagonia MT, after fender liner removal and fixing steering right she acted like that is how it should have been done. Which is why we skipped all the middle steps on the rebuild.
Fenders and bumper had more effect on fuel at 80 than wheels, we did one trip between 37 on and fenders off, 6 hrs to TN and didn’t notice being under 300. 6hrs back no fenders dropped to mid 200. Here is the before and after…purely subjective and my memory of it, but I paid more with going 1/2 way with lift/tires than I lost in the few 6hr/80mph trips. Food for thought

I wonder if you got better mpgs with the fenders off because of the lift. Further away from the ground, you got more drag because well you collected more air going under the vehicle then over the vehicle. Jeep fenders are like scoops, air doesn't seem to flow over them like it would without fenders. I can see that happening, which would make sense.

I don't do any offroading, not yet, by the time I do, I probably will be re-geared.

Now in terms of performance? I’m hearing sluggish, can’t get out of its own way, overheats constantly, etc.

How would you describe the change in performance with the 37” tires and 3.73?

Once again I really appreciate you discussing all of this with me. :) opinions are opinions but real world experience beats everything.
