Tie rod rotational play is normal and was there before you made any changes. Adjusting the drag link will center the wheel, just loosen one nut and then rotate the silver collar in either direction. Good luck!I had no opportunity to flex much on my way in last night, and with Friday evening Summer traffic, we were nearly an hour arriving - just at 9pm sunset - so I drove directly to the camping area to set up the tent.
On the way to camp, I did not some strange "clunking" when passing over bumps in the road. I figured something I had changed or loosened was the cause, but it's the tie rod ?!? I noticed the steering wheel is a little off center, but what would cause it to have ÂĽ of vertical play. That's not a component I touched during the install.
After hiking 13 miles, climbing 4400ft elevation in 80F heat, & arriving back to the trailhead at 8pm, I was in no mood for checking the tire clearance. Probably a good thing given the tierod issue.
Looks like Sunday I get to work on the Jeep suspension & steering.
And if your ever on the East side of Mt Rainier looking for good hike, head up to Mt. Aix.
