Sounds like you forgot to take off your rolex when you walked in to ask for the quote.

If your serious about not off roading, and your gonna pay for the work to be done anyway, I'd actually consider just doing the Mopar 2", throw on the 37" wheels/tires, and be done with it.

You could go cheaper on the lift, but that will get you a decent setup, and then you know you're covered by the warranty and won't have to screw with any shops bending you over down the road (or at least bending you over further than the dealer.)

EDIT: Note, the 4xe mopar lifts tend to get less than advertised on a Rubicon. But for tire fitment, you're really just looking for added bump.
Hi GATORB8,

Really appreciate your suggestion and still be covered under warranty. Yes, I think the guy did see my Rolex while quoting.

Thank You

On the plus side, I don't think he was trying to rip you off in any way. As someone else mentioned, his prices seem pretty fair to me. It's just that he put together a mod list that is on the very extreme end of the spectrum, it's like an "I Won the Lottery, This is My Dream Jeep" kind of list. Way excessive for anyone who isn't filthy rich or hardcore into serious rock crawling.

I would say my Jeep is pretty heavily built at this point, but even including all the thousands of dollars in silly unnecessary stuff I added like a $1k camera system or $1000 tire carrier or $500 headliners or $500 rear cargo shelf, I'm pretty sure I'm still into it for well under $20k.

It helps a lot to shop arounds for the best parts prices online, and do most of the install work yourself, and only pay a shop to do the really complicated stuff you can't do yourself. I paid a shop to install my lift that included adjustable control arms and such that I didn't want to have to mess with myself, and another shop to mount and balance my tires, but that's it, everything else I've just done at home on weekends and it's saved me a ton of money. Plus it helps you get to know your Jeep better, which is very important if you ever plan on fixing anything yourself out on the trail.

Hi C.Sco,

It's a great tip, sharing and making me comfortable that price quoted was almost right. Since I am new to Jeep family so I still rely on shop to do it for me. One more thing to add is I did tell this shop guy that I want the best parts to go in my Jeep so he did spend good 45 minutes to offer and explain each and every part in detail. As suggested by Jeep experts definitely including you that no need to re-gear at this point in time.

I am grateful for this forum and tons of experience sharing which make me feel part of Jeep family and look forward to continue contributing and seek advice from all Jeep family members.

Thank You once again for your insight. ?

You guys are awesome and very helpful. Since the help is flowing, I'm thinking of 37x13.5x17. I know what wheels and tires I'm going with but the lift - 3.5"? Need to make sure the poke doesn't rip off my fenders.

One thing you will need to do after lifting your 4xe to run 37s, (after new front drive shaft and stuff) is to learn and grease your new parts... (Driveshaft, ball joints, etc).. if you don't want that, just keep it stock.

You can literally just get new 35" tires and use your existing wheels to run your 4xe, if all you want is a bigger tire setup.

However, I have met many jeep owners, on the trails, who had once said they would never wanted to go off roading. So, I strongly suggest that you go try once before you make any upgrades.

I also would suggest that, if you are going for a lift, do it altogether in one go.. just because, it saves labor, time, and the agony of searching for newer stuff.

Btw.. I have 37s, teraflex suspension system, 3.5, HD springs, after market front driveshaft, winch, lower control arm skids, front and rear diff skids, winch etc..
The only thing else that I would need immediately (well next) is new bigger better brakes... The fact that my 4xe is getting so heavy and my 37s are just extra weight that my braking distance is affected.

I am also living in Canada (BC), the price quoted in Canadian dollar is within range.

But I would strongly advise to go for 3.5" lift.
