So this has been discussed in the 4xe specific forum, but am wondering if there is a solution out there we don’t know of. On the 4xe we can not program for gear changes. The tazer and jscan both do not support gear changes electronically. They both claim it’s a limitation set by jeep. The few that have changed gears now have a list of lights on the dash due to the ratios not being able to be programmed. My thoughts are maybe an in-line adapter on the abs sensors and trans or t-case output to make the vehicle think it’s correct. But that’s a little above my personal skill set.
Thank you in advance.

Dayum.

If Brandon Haneline, and the programmers of Taser or Jscan can't help you, then the issue is beyond help.

It's too bad, too, because the dual clutch packs in that ZF 8HP hybrid transmission are proven to be able to overheat when crawling hard, and regearing would have helped with that.

I am suddenly really really glad I ordered a conventional V6/6sp.

Maybe someone will come up with a solution over the next few years.

Given that - I'd say stick with factory tire size up to about 305/70R17 or maybe as an absolute max 315/70R17 tires.

I don’t know if this is supposed to be a joke or not. But I did ask Brandon already. And he said what he has can’t do it. Lol

One more reason not to buy a hybrid Jeep.
i have 20k on mine with 37’s and it handles those great with the 4.10’s. Just wanna go a little bigger, that’s all. Also, don’t knock it till you try it. The 4xe is actually a very capable jeep.

I added more info to my post. No, it's not a joke. He's just really knowledgable.

I test drove one. They are very cool, and I strongly considered it. I think we're just kinda learning they probably shouldn't be modified quite as hard as the older designs, at least for now.

No shade here. Have fun with your 4xe.

I guess it’s funny cause he was the first person I asked after tazer and JScan. I agree he is very knowledgeable and also a really nice guy. That’s why I am thinking a separate box is needed to do this on the 4xe.
