Speed will be limited to 25-30mph, without turtle mode, if you regear without changing the ratio prior to test drive.

I put 4.88’s in a 4XE over the weekend and this was confirmed. Once the ratio and tire size were programmed using a Tazer, all was well.

Thank you.

P.S. - This particular 4XE had the TSB applied prior to arriving for gears.

Shawn, thanks for sharing. I'm assuming this was either a '23 or had the TSB flash done to allow the gear recal?

I had no real concerns with staying with the 4.10s until I started pulling the trailer I built, and luck has it the TSB came out.

Any thoughts on 4.56 vs 4.88 for 37" application now that you've been in one? Probably be toward the end of the year, but mind sharing ballpark costs with you taking care of install?

This one had the TSB applied.

Definitely go 4.88, for sure.

Gear install is $900 + parts/fluids.

Thanks! I'll touch base once I decide to pull the trigger.

Currently have stock 3.73 gears & would like to know the advantage of going 4.56 vs 4.88? I run Mickey Thompson 37 baja boss MTs & I sometimes haul a small (prolly 2500# fully loaded) popup trailer & wheel often. TIA!!
