Does anyone have experience with a bench top press for swapping out bearings? Looking to save space and use a bench top press like the one from HF if it will work...

The presses from hf under 20 ton are pretty flimsy. I put a rolling base on my 20 ton so I can tuck it out of the way when I’m not using it. I’m not sure I’d trust anything they sell smaller than that.

You’ll find once you have a press you end up using it quite a bit.
@JLUin818 and I pressed on the bearings and also used the press for a few other things. Gear swap took longer than expected but it was our first go at it. Currently doing the break in with the gears but can't wait to take it offroading, perhaps this coming weekend.

We used the hf $140 12 ton press as some of the bench top ones might not have the clearance to press the bearings on so be careful about that.

Learned a lot of tricks and better ways to do the gears so I'm sure if we did it a second time it would go smoother.

I recommend a decent impact gun to do the job. The pinion nut is a pain in the ass. We bought the corded $40 harbor freight one and it worked great. It also makes doing the lcas a breeze as well. Wish I had used this for the front pinion nut rather than trying to crush the sleeve by hand which took a long time.
