4H engage - gear grinding

[Hecs]

Hi Everyone!

I have a Rubi 2020, Just 2 days ago I tried to engaged 2H to 4H with the speed of 15km/hr but it was really really hard but I was able to moved it at the end, but then I’ve heard gear grinding.
Is there anyone here has got the same experience or same problem with mine? I love to hear some advices or solutions of the problem.

Gear grinding is not normal for 2H to 4H at lower speeds (below 70 km/hr). Are you sure it was fully engaged in 4H? You may want to try again to see if it is repeatable.

I think it was not fully engaged coz by the time I’ve heard the grinding, I released it and back to 2H. It happened only once but I was worried if something broken. Thanks again.

It has happened to me once while parallel parking and switching back and forth between 2h4h. Once in a blue moon it just doesn’t fall in place when not driving straight

When they are new, the transfer case is very stiff. The more you use it the easier it will become. On the roll, just let off the gas and pull it back into 4h, You can do this several times a day to smooth out the process. It will become easier. The grinding was you not having it fully engaged.
