I hope so...they key is staying on 37s. I REALLY wish there was a manual on 37s with 4.88 or 5.13s nearby that I could test drive. Apparently, the jl manual transmission is rare and finding a regeared manual is a unicorn.

I have 35s on 4.56 gears and a six speed. I had 33’s and the 4.56 gears for about a year. I actually think the 4.56s were perfect for the 33’s. Very responsive in 6th on the highway. The 35’s are a little more sluggish, and if I had it to do over, I’d go 4.88s and my 35’s.
In addition to the decreased acceleration, the gap between 3rd and 4th is just wide enough now on the 35’s to be annoying. With the 33’s and 4.56 gears, that gap was a non-issue.

It's obviously going to feel more sluggish going to 35s after you got used to running 33s with 4.56 for a year. If you had ran 35s for a year and then regeared to 4.56, I imagine you would feel differently.

no doubt about it, 4.56s are worlds better than those 3.45s. the difference between 4.56 and 4.88 would be pretty small by comparison.

What is the opinion here for a 2020 Rubi automatic upping to 35" tires? Will the 4.10 gears be ok? Is it worth the coin to up gears one notch?

Consensus for auto seems to be it's not worth it or needed. Especially to only go up one notch. Lots of people even run 37s without gear change on the auto.

But if you do it, I would recommend going straight to 4.88.

I drove and wheeled with 37s and stock gears for a while before I switched to 4.88s, offroadIng there was no problem with the at(down here we dont have many rck crawling trails) but i sure felt the difference on the highway... Loving the new gears!
