392 won’t go in reverse

2024 (392) why cant’t you back up with drivers door open to? I’ve followed the prompts on screen to put in park and redo. It worked once. Now not very frustrating

Doesn't putting on your seat belt turn off the auto park? I've never tried the reverse scenario exactly but I know it does as far as going forward. If you really feel the need to drive around with the door open and no seat belt often plugging a seat belt extender into the seat belt works the same.

I have a manual gate, get out to open, hold the door in and pull through, get out to close. Auto Park was a PITA, backing a trailer in a tight or jack knife type situation can be easier opening the door to look also. $20 well spent
The sh!tty (ratcheting?) shifter that resulted in Auto Park like is in my 15 GC is now a very touchy sh!tty shifter after the add Auto Park recall. They were changed back to a normal gated shifter in about 17.
I posted the belt extension before seeing your post.
