Had check engine light come up the other day on my 2021 392 with 11,000 miles on it. Just dropped it off at Dodge house and they said cylinder 2 misfire? Jeep is completely stock. Has anyone had this issue pop up?

Did you feel anything? I’d think you would feel it if you had a misfiring cylinder, even if it is a V8.

The reason I ask is because years ago I got a CEL on my 2014 JK. We were in Utah at the time, and a dealer —in Provo— claimed I had blown cylinder No. 2, even though I couldn't feel anything unusual.

Turns out they were full of shit: they were looking to scam Chrysler for thousands of dollars over a CEL. I called their bluff and they reset the CEL. The Jeep had no more issues in the following two years I owned it.

I’d double check if I were you. There are crooked dealers out there.

Good luck.

I remember a failed coil on a then-new VW Golf manifesting itself as rough running, with the dealer's Svc Dept using the same word. "Misfire" is a very broadband term, covering a variety of issues. You'll want to ask your dealer to describe the diagnosed condition precisely, for context.

Best of luck with the repair process.

Couldn’t really notice it. That’s why I was surprised when he said “cylinder 2 is a misfire”. Hopefully it’s nothing major. It’s basically a pavement queen.
