The Rule seems to be 37's require regear. What about the smaller lighter 37's like the KO2's LR C used by the raptors?

Your Rubi has 4.10s already and, assuming you have the auto, should handle 37s pretty easily. You CAN regear for better low range offroad and to get 8th gear back on the highway, but it's not required. I'm running a heavy 37 and do just fine for my needs.

37 KO2's on my 6sp JLUR, stock gears. I prefer how it drives with the 37's over the stock tires. 1st always seemed to be in the halfway spot between a granny gear and a normal 1st gear to me.

I've got a Rubicon. 3.6. I run K02 37s and no regear. No problems. I see 8th gear all the time

What engine do you have? I have the 3.6L/8 speed/4.88 and I definitely noticed a reduction when moving from 315/70/17 (theoretically 35's) to BFG K02 in 37x12.50x17 in load range C.

Other engines may not have an issue, but I could tell immediately that I lost some torque (this was when I was at sea level). Now that I am at 7K ASL, it is even more prevalent.

I have the 2.0T, with the stock 285's it performs well, i do like it over my previous 3.6. I Was planning on 315's but really tempted by the 37's, which i think would fit well with the st3 lift.

I think you will be fine with the 2.0T as it can compensate a great deal better than the naturally aspirated 3.6L. The LRC K02's are also lighter than most other tires in the same size. They are about 2.5 pounds lighter than the Kanati Trail Hogs (315/70/17) LRE + OEM wheels + spacers that I had before upgrading to them and Icon Alpha wheels.

sommany say drivability is fine with 37s . Bu how noticeable is it? Lots of power loss but still acceptable vs not much difference? Any additional risk of breaking drive train parts?

I have the 2.0 and 37” KO2’s at 30 psi. No real discernible loss of power in town. It will hold gears longer. It’s a little noticeable on the highway as it will stay in 7th gear the majority of the time.

I’m at sea level and regularly head up the hill from here to 2k elevation. I do plan a re-gear to 4.88’s since I plan on a travel trailer someday but not really in a hurry.

X2

I’m running 37s and they’re just fine with the 410 rear end. I’m probably going to regear to 488s next year, becaise I think it will be closer to perfect for me, but the stock 410s have been perfectly serviceable for the last 18 months. I would do it again.

My experience just this past week, ko2s are horrible in snow/slush. I’ll be changing mine asap.
