I've had my '22 Sahara about 3 weeks and just today the touch screen display decided to remain black when I started her up. Literally just happened so I haven't investigated. Is this a known issue, and any if so, any known culprits?

Get used to it. Mines in the shop for the 6th time in 2.5 years. Will need to take it back later in the week.

I've seen it a couple times when I first got mine 3.5 years ago. Couple times simple push power button a couple times brought it back up (Like 1 to power it off for sure, 2nd to repower it up)

Couple other times, it took a shut-off and open the door, wait 30 seconds, and try again.

But it hasn't happened in a couple years, now.

This has happened in my Jeep a few times. I believe uconnect doesn't boot up properly, resulting in the black screen. (You'll probably notice climate adjustments will still show up on the display.)

Other vehicles I've driven with touch screens will occasionally have the same type of hiccup. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me, as long as it doesn't occur on a regular basis.

I just found another thread semi-related about the back up camera. But maybe it's really all the same general gremlin. FWIW, the back-up camera still came up fine, just black otherwise. I'll follow the suggestions and just try back later. I did just happen to be looking when I started it up, and while the screen was black, there were 2 little squares in the top L and R corners which read something I did not catch. Made me think it was some kind of boot up code or something.
Thanks!

Big computers in all these new vehicles, sometimes little hiccups. I’ve had this unconnected system in our Durango now for a few years and it’s generally problem free, I think I’ve had it do the black screen twice. My moms Mazda CX-5 screen will sometimes go black when she’s trying to use the reverse camera.

Happened a couple time to me. As TimmH said, shut down /start button off, open door, wait 30 sec; fire it back up.

I had it happen to me once. It was stuck on that screen though. Looked up the issue and found someone said to pull the fuse for a reboot. Did that and haven’t had an issue since.

That reminded me of other comments I have read about other random things not working right and the recommendation to "seat" the fuses. What exactly does that mean, just push and make sure they are in tight?

In my case I actually removed the fuse then put it back in.

Mine went blank on the first day of owning and now 3 years later, no other issue. I wrote it off to needing a software update.

Now the spouse acquired a 2022 Honda back in October. At 400 miles the entire infotainment went blank which also controls climate, etc. Into the shop and confirmed dead. Luckily they had one in Ohio versus overseas and I noticed it was a $1400 part. She was worried about the quality of the vehicle but infotainment systems are just Chinese electronics.

The 8.4" nav in my wife's '20 Grand Cherokee does this every once in awhile. I've also noticed recently (actually my son noticed) that the screen will quicky shift left or right randomly, and when listening to the radio (live radio) songs will skip - which seems odd to me ?‍♂

We get the monthly Jeep status emails & I haven't received any that say there are any updates the cars needs, so I don't know what's happening. The vehicle is almost out of the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty so I am really contemplating getting a Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan. Anything electronic can become costly to repair or replace.
