I purchased a new Gates PCV valve for my 2019 JLUR. At 75K miles I figured it may be time to change it. The new Gates PCV valve came in so I tested it (be nice). Question is why does it allow air to be blown both ways? Should the valve not close one way but allow the gasses to pass only one way? What's it's purpose? The Mopar PCV valve I removed is the same way. The old school PCV valves that I remember allowed flow only one way. and if they rattled they were considered good Thanx in advance.
