I can see the OP's logic. How much energy is needed to stop a moving car? What is stopping the vehicle? Heat from brake pad/rotor friction, tire friction, other internal friction (engine), and aerodynamic drag. Add a hybrid system and less energy needs to be dissipated by the other components, including at the tire/road interface. Less friction between the tire and road should increase tire life. Not sure how much difference it makes though.
The tires are always going to slow the car down. Whatever does the "braking", it's the tires that slow the vehicle relative to the ground.

Wondering if the tires are lower resistance or harder compounds that last longer.

EDIT: also regen braking stretches out the time to stop which would reduce tire wire to some degree.

I head the Aluminum blocks are cracking on the new 2.0l motors and fca is having problems with them.. they are currently looking to move that motor from the Trenton plant to dundee to see if they can fix the problem.. this was info i got from someone who works at the Trenton plant now with the new 2.0L motors. I was worried that the new motor will have nothing but problems.. FCA better get that fixed quick. Going with the more reliable v6 here.
I think if that were true, they wouldn't be opening up orders for them. To move production of an engine would require hundreds of millions of dollars. Why would changing locations make a difference, anyway?

Dundee already works with 4cyl motors so they are trying to see if they can fix the problem they are having because Trenton plant can’t find a fix yet and they never worked on 4cyl motors before.

Ok, well that's different than moving production. That makes more sense. I still don't think they'd open up customer orders if they had a significant problem, especially if there is no solution in sight. They have plenty of capacity for 3.6 engines to make up for a shortage of 2.0's, if there is a problem. If there is one, I hope they figure it out and fix it fast.

Nope. Not until it is proven. It is a Fiat based design. The V6 is proven to be reliable and durable.

This right here! It may be a great engine but until it is out on the road and gets a lot of miles on it I would not want to buy it. The V6 is proven and if the 4 cylinder Turbo turns out to be a great engine it will be an excuse to trade in and buy one with that engine down the road after it has proven itself.

Until many are sold and get some good miles under them nobody knows how good this engine may be or not.

Though perfectly in line with expectations of how a tinyturbo4 would perform pushing a brick into the wind. The 2.0T benefits in the city where it gets greatly improved fuel economy, but not on the highway, where even under rather easy EPA testing that averages 48MPH and nevers crests above 60, the 2.0T becomes about as fuel efficient as the 3.6L Pentastar. It’s highly likely under the EPA’s US06 testing where the speeds are more realistic highway speeds, the 2.0T would do worse than the Pentastar, but they don’t put that number front and centre when publishing results.

This is very much inline with the characteristics seen in similar platforms/setups.
Bingo! The turbo will gain 1-2 mpg in the city and 0-1 on the highway; 1 mpg overall and $3000 more. It just doesn't make sense, especially if you want a stick and drive 75 mph on the highway like me. I hope to see the BSG paired with the V6 in the future for city driving and trails. Highway numbers over 25 for a JLU are a pipe dream. Your posts are great. Thanks!

I am not getting a Wrangler for fuel economy. So the V6 seems to do well on trails now so why mess with something that works
