I have a 2014 wrangler with a 3.6 engine. It is starting to make the lifter or rocker arm ticking. I see that Jasper Engines has a up date on the rocker arm and floating roller in it. Did Chrysler up date that in the newer wranglers? Thanks

yes the 3.6 in the new JL is the Pug motor that was a complete redo internally. They addressed most of the weak points from the other gen motor

Did they ever come out with a up date for the 3.6 that had the rocker and lifter problem? I go to Chrysler and all they want to do is sale a new Jeep or overhaul the engine with the same bad parts. But that’s there job. Thanks for the info. Have a great day. funnnyfarm

Mine has a little ticking, which tells me it is about time for an oil change.

might try some lucas oil modifier for low viscosity oil. Solves the low viscosity ticking at startup.

Replace with a Jasper engine will cost you about 8-10k depending on location and labor costs unless youre doing the work yourself or have a good buddy hookup.

Best to just fix that motor if it’s just ticking.

For $10 per oil change, it does help with startup ticking for sure. Warmed up ticking is a whole different issue.
