Looking for opinions on moving from 255/70R18to 275/65R18. Only street driving so off road is not an issue. I know the diameter is almost exactly the same, but I need to make sure the width is not an issue. I am thinking that the slightly wider tires would fill the wells out a little better, with better street traction. Opinion on tires would be appreciated.

You won’t rub with 275/65R18. I wasn’t rubbing with 275/70R18.

I have 285/75R18 now and I’m still not rubbing...

jludave. I have the identical car. You photo helps a lot. Is there any reason to get or not get the 275/70 over the 275/65. The 275/70 are a little over an inch taller. I know I can reprogram the car, but do you really see a change in the MPG or a change in power and general driving experience.

You will likely rub your rear fenders with 275/70R18 at full articulation.

Aldo - how did you like the Daystar spacers? Did you notice much ride improvement? Also, did you have to do any other suspension changes like LCA’s? I’ve got a 20 Sahara with 285/70r17’s and am planning to add the Daystars only. Don’t want to change much but get a slight lift.

At that point I only had the Daystar spacer lift. Yes, it smoothed the ride a little.

I got a Mopar lift afterwards. If I were to do it all over again, I'd stop at the Daystar spacer kit.
