24 model manual trans remote start

Figured I would ask here as my dealer bounced me around all their departments until the parts department finally told me probably a no-go.

When I build my 22 MT jeep adding the cold weather package removed the remote starter. This does not happen when you build out a 24 leaving me the impression you can get a 24 MT with factory remote start.

Anyone add the current 24'' remote starter to an older JL MT or know if its possible?

I have never seen a remote start in a factory manual vehicle before. This is likely due to the fact that being in gear and started with someone in front of the vehicle there would deadly consequences. Will an aftermarket shop put one on. Probably yes with some kind of waiver. Most of us have be taught to leave the vehicle in gear when parked as this will prevent a roll away if the park brake slips or fails.

I get the reasoning and have had compustars in the past but I'm wondering if the jeep build and price is wrong or if they figured out a way to make it safe as an option from the factory.

doubtful as it would have to come from factory with the clutch sensor deactivated and safety procedures in place if you were to start the vehicle in gear. I doubt Jeep would invest the RND to develop a system like that when its cheaper to do what they have done already. Its probably just a configurator or common knowledge you just get remote start with a manual. You could probably do an aftermarket system, but you never know what can be messed up tearing into the wiring just for a remote start, plus liability if that vehicle starts moving with no one in it.

Likely an error. Just like the site lists the Willys with 3.45 gears and other errors. Jeep can’t even keep manuals from catching fire. I could only imagine if they built manuals with remote start. Suppose that could be Jeep’s entry into self driving vehicles. The Mustang would have a run for its money in being the new sidewalk cruiser.

There is an aftermarket kit that does this, sorry I can't remember the name, I'll circle back if I can find it. It ties into the shifter sensor to make sure you're in N and that the parking break is applied.

I would think you could do this. Just need to power the jeep and check to see if it is in gear.

I didnt end up doing anything but I will probably give the Start X a try at some point. Looks like it works if you leave the Jeep in 4lo which would be fine for me.
