Hey Jeep! Here’s a wish list for the 2027 Wrangler, but sure too late for 2027 production.
  • Fix the steering. This is a known complaint and a huge aftermarket offering, but solutions voids Jeeps warranty. Come on Jeep, you know this is an issue that can be easily fixed for production. Step it up for 2027. Don’t wait for the J70.
  • 5,000 lbs tow package on 35’s
    • Adjustable rear shocks
    • Class III Hitch
  • Upgrade steering
  • While cooled seats may not be an option, how about strong fan ventilated seats (top and bottom front seats) with perforated leather.
  • Better insulated Sky OneTouch. Mostly for thermal.
  • Digital dash
  • Factory retractable rock slider steps that are made to protect, like Rock Slide Engineering. The 2027 Bronco is getting retractable steps, but they don’t appear to be “rock sliders” from the looks of spy shots. I may be wrong.

That's just not true. Many straight axle pickups don't wander and Hemi swapped Wranglers with mechanical pumps drive straight.
And my JL drives perfectly straight so either he doesnt want to fix broken or worn parts or he wants IFS .... either are likely.

The only warranty affected by changing out steering components is the warranty on those particular components. Your new drag link doesn't void the warranty on the steering box or pump. Obviously Jeep isn't replacing aftermarket parts under warranty. Stock I had 0 issues with the steering in either JL or my JT. All 3 were lifted and run big tires since early on. 63k miles on the 1st one, mostly 37 and then 38s before stolen. It was still on the stock tie rod. 56k on the 2nd JLUR, mostly on 39s. Tie rod still stock. The JT is at 50k on 37s since 1100 miles. Not only is the tie rod stock, the ball joints are too. The 2 JLs got HD ball joints at 30-40k miles. All 3 run 6-6.5⁰ of caster and all 3 ended up with flipped drag links and raised track bars after the lifts. Even lifted on big tires the steering isn't hard to make good. Most of the wandering from the factory is the 40psi in the tires dealers deliver them with. Drop it to 30 and you're good. If you still don't like it, add the Mopar lift lower control arms to push the caster up and it still looks like factory parts.

Brand new stock Wranglers wander. Before the steal box it was down right dangerous. The steel boxes and software updates improved it. The 2024 got more software and other updates, although I haven't found anyone to tell me what the other updates are and now 99% of the wander is gone, but the steering still isn't precise and it definitely can be without IFS.

It can be, but I think the biggest factor is the caster. Jeep uses the same control arms for every model and the ride heights vary by quite a lot. That means so does the caster. Jeep might say 4⁰of caster is within spec... because they don't want to use different arms on different models. The 2024 4xe sahara rental we had in Hawaii didn't wander in the slightest but it also sat pretty low and rolled on basically car tires. It cornered really well too. Can the stock steering be improved? Absolutely. So can the stock suspension, tires, powertrain, etc.

2026 Willys 2.0T 2DR Hard Top in Mojito built for me!
I thought they "fixed" the steering for MY 2026?

My 2026 is definitely more steady than my 2024 was.
