Every time I start my Wrangler, it can be a good 10-20 second before the button on the steering wheel or the volume nob work. Is that normal?
The radio start right away, music is playing, but cannot turn volume down, or change station using the steering wheel button. The touch screen work tough to change station.

Thanks

Mine doesn't. But I did get an update today. Not sure what it does.

It's normal. Behind the scenes the system is doing a whole bunch of stuff like going through a system checklist making sure everything is ok. It runs the audio near the start but doesn't open the UI to input until later.

With each update pushed to the UConnect, it 'should' improve as the engineers find ways to make things more efficient but they're limited by the hardware which isn't the newest but the most bombproof that's widely sourceable.

The Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee and I think the Wrangler EV have newer, faster hardware that will probably filter down as components get cheaper and more widely available.

Since 2007 the uconnect has always been a 💩 show, and gets progressively worse as it gets more expensive, it's a miracle it works most of the time, count your blessings.

It's a pity this junk cannot be easily deleted, in the good old days the radio was optional.

Someone should make a basic functional pass through unit to replace this 💩.

The only thing I consistently disliked in the Wranglers was this expensive useless uconnect system, it's more gimmick than function.
