Two things: first you’ll regret a 4XE in about 2 years when it starts to cause issues. Go Whilly’s without 4XE. Second the cards are in your favor if you can pay cash tell them what you will pay and if they mess you around with a bunch of bs promises just turn and and walk. I have read Stellantis has shut down the Toledo plant for a week or so because of backed up inventory on dealer lots. Never trust what a dealer says even if they pay you back there will be hoops to jump through and a hidden charge somewhere. Just my 2 cents. 😉

Curious to know what issues you are talking about.

Do your own research and you’ll see, too many issues to list. I got a friend with one almost every time I call him it’s in or headed back into the dealer. It’s had software issues, a recall for sudden engine shut down, and not to mention fire hazard something to do with the software and/or battery pack. He won’t even park it in the garage anymore. Says he is too upside down to trade or it would’ve been gone. I think it’s a 2023 model.

another friend of a friend yea ok

My research is my own 2021.

Based on this forum there is more friends of friends with 4xe issues, than actual 4xe owners reporting 4xe specific issues.

lol I’m not the fool that bought a hybrid in Canada….
...three years ago, with apparently no issues since.

I think the 4xe issues are somewhere else... :giggle:

Not sure what this means, do you mean instead of 95% of my driving on cheap electricity, I could have done 100% if It wasn't Canada?

Below is my August mileage, note most of it is ⚡

The HV system/battery have a 10 year warranty, worse case scenario I'll get a new battery under warranty, meanwhile I'll keep pocketing the $3,000+ a year I'm saving on gas.

My 2018 Wrangler is a total loss after a crash last week.
(Everyone is ok)
I am in the market for another Wrangler.
I decided to go with Willys 4xe.
Here is the the best price that I have come up with from a dealer in Idaho:

MSRP: 61,615
Invoice: 60,150
Offer: 53,750 + doc + tax

There is a condition though.
I originally wanted a cash purchase, but the dealer wants me to finance the Jeep for 3 months through Stellantis.
They promise to pay back all the interests and fees that I pay for 3 months and close the car loan.

It seems like it will eventually cost me no extra money.
Is this common in these days?
Not a good deal. Go to mark Dodge and get the same jeep for 45k out the door. Get in touch with Anthony.

When I picked up my 4Xe the end of last year I was expecting to pay cash and get it over with, but then learned the only way to grab the full $7500 IRS EV rebate was to lease.

The sales rep told me people were leasing, then buying out the lease shortly after just to grab the full IRS credit. I decided okay, I'll go that route, and the finance guy asked me to make three lease payments before paying it off, as they were not reimbursed by Chrysler until three months later, and the dealership had to front the $7500 until then. It would cost me little to nothing extra, as the three lease payments would be subtracted from the buyout price anyway.

Well, in the meantime I got to thinking about all the recall stories that were floating around the net, so why not just go the whole three years of lease payments to see If I got a lemon or a good one, so at this point I'm continuing to lease! So far no problems at all, but I am about to head out on a cross country trip this month.

Another benefit is I earn about 5% on the balance I was going to use to pay cash.

Just something to think about when considering cash versus leasing!!!
This makes a lot of sense.
Thanks for sharing your story.

4xe is the only way to go, as long as you have a place to charge it. First one had 4 trouble free years (except for rare FORM issues), second one is perfect. You will not regret the 4xe, some people regret paying much more for a pure ICF model.
