Thinking about trading my 2022 JLR for a 2024 Toyota 4Runner?

Not a bad choice. Be interested in seeing what they price out a reasonable equipped TRD at.

I like the thought of Toyota reliability, but I don’t miss the blandness of my old Tundra when compared to my Rubi.

They are at $1,000 below invoice, or about 8.25% off MSRP/TSRP, is what I've been told.

If you're a person who has never taken their doors or roof off their ride with any consistency, then yes a 4 Runner is probably much better suited for you.

If they ever update the interior I may pick one up, while keeping the Wrangler of course.

@Ratbert, I would try to get the last 2024 before the new 2025, but I bet they'd build another few after mine before the 2025 comes out. I would only consider the current generation, at least for now.

@lowmpg, I take my top and doors off all the time. I don't just mean put the top back (soft top), but I remove the top entirely, hardware and all. I don't even recall if there are nuts on the door hinges or not. If so, I've lost them at this point. The 4R would have a moonroof. Same thing, ammirite?

Anyone seeing better than 8% off MSRP/TSRP on 'yotas?

They are updating the whole thing for 2025

Yeah, I saw that. I imagine you can easily get 500,000 miles, probably more, out of a current-generation 4Runner. The 4.0L engine is bomb-proof, as is most of the drivetrain. Might be the time to buy a 20+-year vehicle, before the new version comes along; although, it's my understanding a manual transmission is anticipated in the next-gen 4R.

I think the 4Runner is a better SUV than the JL, absolutely. The outgoing version is absolutely great. If I was personally enthusiastic about them, I'd probably try to get one before they are gone.

Had 5th gen before the JL. Slow as a slug, but very solid and never a problem when I sold it with 105K on the clock. I am eyeing the 1958 LC.

I just ordered a fifth gen. It should be here in about a month and a half.

Ordered? Doesn't the dealership just call and tell you what they have coming in and and you take it or not?

Nice!

Is your Jeep going bye-bye or will you keep it too?
