Hi - We just picked up a 2024 JL Unlimited Sport with base stereo. Sky touch top. This will be our daily driver at roughly 100 miles a day. We have two kids who will be in and out as well.

We would like to improve the bass in the factory system (I know this has been discussed time and time again).

The overall sound isn’t terrible but there is literally no bass so want to focus there.

What is the consensus between the Kicker 10” underseat sub, a JL Stealth box, or one of the tailgate variants (Stinger or MB Quart). We want the install to be clean and as close to OEM as possible. The underseat option is most appealing but don’t know how much sound we would get out of it compared to the others.

We don’t need bass to rattle the windows but just want the music to sound filler (wife’s jeep has the alpine and really just looking for that type of sound environment with our sport).

Also thinking of doing the plug and play kicker 3.5” in the dash the 4” in the soundbar and the 2.5” in the soundbar. Any issues or suggestions here?

Thanks!!

Oh man, you just missed MBQ at invasion in Pigeon Forge, they had everything like 40% off.

I visited all the sound booths there and picked MBQ. Rockford's fit/finish is a little better but it's stupid expensive.

If I didn't have Alpine, I'd probably start by amping the stock stuff (allows you to high pass the xover) and adding the sub. Not sure how bad the bass roll off is in the stock unit.

I’ve never been impressed with underseat subs. I’ve run a couple and always felt pretty meh about them. The only subs that ever sound worth a damn are proper subs mounted in properly constructed sub boxes.

Good morning.
I am in the same situation as you.
I am leaning towards this:
ALPINE PSS-23WRA Subwoofer+Amp+Tweeters
I am not sure why the aftermarket speaker companies have not updated the T harness adapters for the 2024 Wranglers. What options did you eventually choose?

I bought the MB Quart system at Pigeon Forge too. This weekend I plan to install it. Any gotchas? Any good videos or pages I should review? I am pretty sure I only have 5 RCAs, does that matter for the Sub amp?

Any help you can provide i would love, thanks in advance.

Still sitting in the boxes in the garage, be at least a few weeks before I get to it. Good luck, be great to hear the same from you if you beat me to it.

Just curious, if you've made a decision.. Just purchased a 2 door JL Sport, and I'd like to do something to expand the range of the speakers somewhat. The stock system isn't bad, however I agree with you, it is missing the low end. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I used a JBL unit similar to the link below for about 6 years in my S2000 before it blew. Its not for an audiofile by any means but gives a good amount of bass and sound. I felt the bump bump because it was just wedged behind the drivers seat and the trunk. For the price it could be an easy quick solution.

EDIT: I R Dumb and just realized this was a post from a year ago.
