That's my question. This soundbar comes with big speakers. The stock head unit cannot power them by itself

Both say its for the non alpine system. Quad has no reviews but the recent years 18-23 says it was okay. Ds reviews say its good though. But thats it, nothing further. The black friday deal of 20% off is enticing at 720. And all plug and play.

The MB Quart 6x9 ā€œplug n’ playā€ upgrade (some cutting) is back in stock. I ordered this yesterday morning 11/22/24 and is showed up this evening 11/23/24 around 6pm, with the cheapest shipping!

I’ll be putting these in the 2024 Wrangler JL Sahara tomorrow morning with some Accoustifill and sound mat.

Definitely interested in that. Comes the whole kit. Did you wind up installing it yet? Did you have to remove the sound bar or do it upside down? also did you disconnect the battery?

Yes. Everything is included you see in the photo. The instructions are not included in the box they are on the website and are good. I did not disconnect the battery. In retrospect I should’ve removed the soundbar and installed that way. Install in place is a pain; the reaching and contorting got to my back. It was a successful installation. I added sticky-backed sound deadening sheets and acoustifill stuffed in the voids.

Sound: For starters, I have the non-Alpine, no sub/no amp basic stereo. My settings are: bass maxed, and the other 2 are 1 maybe 2 clicks below max (I can’t recall at time of writing, and they are equal, I know that). I have Terra Acoustics in the top dash and stock knee speakers. There certainly is a remarkable difference with the 6x9s in the soundbar! I have moved the distribution of sound from dead center to 2 clicks back to the rear (soundbar) and it gives a ā€œconcert soundā€ feel. It lacks bass of course but that’s not what I’m after. I may add a small compact powered sub later but for now I’m happy and look forward to warmer weather when the doors are off to hear how it does doors off and powered roof back.

Thanks for this update. I have exactly the same setup as you, although I don’t have the trebles and mids cranked quite so much haha. Would you say there is more midbass with the soundbar upgrade?

In comparison to the the stock bar, yes. I couldn’t hear the bar at all. After the install there is definitely noticeable mid bass even with settings lower than mine.

Caveat: I’m not a sound expert by any means, I’m a first time Wrangler owner doom scrolling the site to see what others are doing to theirs! HA!

Thanks for the response. More so leaning towards the ds18 sound bar $700 vs the $200 MB. The ds comes with a sound bar and 8 inch and more tweeters. Even on sale (20% off) 700$ is a little crazy. But a 10inch under seat sub with installation is about 500 which i was originally going to do but it sticks in the rear passenger seating a little bit so in reality its not that bad. Might just bite it and go and deal with it later.
