Hi everyone, this is my first post so thank you for welcoming me and hopefully this post isn’t a complete copy. I’ve been searching through other threads and have found some great info but was hoping to get specifics on the existing speakers to match aftermarket as close as possible.

What I’m trying to figure out is what impedance the factory speakers are to understand and match the load on the factory radio without an amp or new pods.

I have a 2024 4xE Sport S without the Alpine amped system. I saw that one set of tweeters is 8 ohm and the others aren’t marked. Nor does it say on Mopar’s part site or Crutchfield or anywhere else I’ve looked. My plan is to replace the tweets with JL C-2 tweets, since they’re 8 ohm and probably the woofers with 4” C-2 as well, just because I like keeping with the same brand. Also going through with sound dampening/polyfill inside the pods. Basically trying to use the same speaker sizes (or smaller for tweets) and get the best sound possible without the factory head unit burning up after 40ish minutes.

Has anyone measured the impedance of any or all of the factory speakers or know what load the factory h/u is pushing?

TYIA and I’ll be definitely posting all my mods as they get done…

Sticking with the same brand and product line is definitely the way to go. They will be "voice-matched" to each other.

My situation is slightly different than yours, but might be somewhat informative. I have a 21 JL with the factory Alpine upgrade (amplified, with subwoofer). All of the speakers are full-range, but may be limited by a crossover somewhere. The ~2.5" dash speakers and smaller speakers in the soundbar are 4 Ohms. The 4" speakers (knee panel, soundbar) are 2 Ohm. I don't know what the sub is. It's still installed.

I replaced all (except sub) with a Kicker CS kit from TrailSeven.

All of these are 4 Ohm. This is a pretty good deal when they are on sale. They solder the plug-in wiring harnesses (and crossovers on dash tweeters) onto the speakers, Tessa-tape all of it, and the soundbar speakers are already installed in the soundbar pods.

Their setup for a non-Alpine JL uses the same speakers, just not as many. Both systems have pre-installed crossovers on the dash tweeters.

Thanks for the reply! Great info! I’ve looked at the TS kit. It looks like a screaming deal but they changed the soundbar for ‘24. If the 4” knee speakers and dash tweets are wired in parallel, I’m assuming a 2 ohm load wouldn’t be too much. Your system has an external amp I believe, I’m also afraid of frying this very expensive looking head unit hahaha! Alpine makes a set of 4” components that might be a safer choice

These in the dash and soundbar seem like a good solution too…

It's tough to get info on the original equipment, as you've said. Good luck with your project!

On the dash and knee-panel speakers, yes. On the soundbar- no. The pods hold larger speakers that wouldn't normally fit in the original location.
