2024 Radio notification sounds??

Hey Y'all,

2024 Willy's 6MT with the 12.3" new radio.

It'll occasionally give a ding/chime notification sound while driving, but it gives no indication on-screen and nothing in the 'Notifications' as to what it was about.

Anyone have any clue what it's doing? I thought it was maybe related to my phone, but it's done it outside of my phone getting notifications.

Pop the hood and check every fuse and relay in the fuse box. Push down on each one and make sure they are all fully seated. JLs are known to leave the factory with loose fuses and relays, which can cause weird gremlin like you are experiencing. Also, check your battery terminals. I had similar dings on an older 2015 JK when one of the terminals was loose.

Might be something with your phone. I kept hearing a random beep noise, finally figured out that it was the waze app warning of speed trap ahead, as my phone auto connects with Android auto. The screen was not even on the app and it would still beep.

Checked all of those before I left the dealer parking lot. Definitely not a power loss or warning ding notification, just a happy chime that goes off.

Maybe - it's not a phone or app sound though. It's 100% a sound the jeep makes (it's similar to the start-up chimes), but just once vs. the startup multiple dings.

Just an idea... Driving in DE a few months back and my jeep dings,best I could describe it was like a submarine alarm sound you hear in movies. A bit later bings and slightly different sound. Nothing in the screens, radio or dash. Turns out where we're speed cameras and red light cameras in the area and it made a sound to alert me.

Never saw anything about the feature or
how it was turned on or off. I only figured it out by chance when I saw some signage for the respective cameras and put 2 and 2 together.

I get that too but only at a certain intersection. BTW, all notices (including cameras) are turned off in the settings. Weird ?

If you have the SiriusXM service still, it may be sending phantom notifications for Favorite Artist/Song. Try going into the SiriusXM app and either clearing out any favorites or turn off notification sounds for Favorites.

It’s the red light camera notification, you can turn it off in settings

It is a red light camera warning and there are a couple other "warning" notification settings that can be turned off in your setting menu. I "believe" without going out to check it will be in your navigation settings.

I turned off all the notifications in all menus, inc Nav. It beeps ONLY at ONE certain intersection. I pass many other intersections that have cameras in silence. BTW, the intersection where it beeps doesn’t even have a speed camera; it has some sensors, but not a speed camera.

No don't turn that off, it's your indication that you need to move to a state that doesn't do that BS!
