While parusing the Jeep website searching for available 2024 2 door Sport S models with the 2.0L turbo engine, I found a couple in transit to local dealers. When I looked at the window stickers they are showing estimated gas milage as 20 mpg city/21 mpg highway! The 2023 2 door Sport S witht he 2.0L turbo is listed as 22mpg City/24 mpg highway!

Jeep Wrangler JL 2024 gas mileage drop! 23 mpg

Jeep Wrangler JL 2024 gas mileage drop! 24 mpg

I am not all that thrilled about the potential loss in mpg, when both vehicles are very simularily equipped! Anyone know what the heck happened to the gas mileage for 2024?

Any '24 build sheets to compare the v6 Pentastar versus last year's numbers??

I'm guessing that might've dropped at least a point, but only cause the eTorque's gone. That shouldn't be applicable to '23 vs '24 2.0T, but should help rule out if it's an engine/ECU change or some other change.

Pretty much the same options on both, other than the hard top. Both engines are the same, neither list etoque. Tires and wheels are the same size. And, the Sport S isn’t getting the new grill!!!! Makes no sense to me.

Any number of possibilities:

Weight could have changed.

The parameters of the EPA test might have changed.

Subtle ECU engine tuning parameters might have changed.

Also, remember that the numbers on the sticker aren't for the specific vehicle and options per se. But rather specific tested configurations, that are selected and optioned and submitted to the EPA based on an expectation that a certain number of customers will option the vehicle in that way.

So the baseline option packages could have changed.
