2024 Engine Noise

Hi I have a new 2024 Willys and have a strange engine rattling. I heard it day two of owning the Jeep which was about two months ago. I now have 1300 miles on the Jeep and the noise came back. Sounds like a lose part or something and wondering if anyone else has had similar issues or knows what it might be. I also hear it in low gears and cold starts. I have an audio recording but doesn't appear this site allows me to upload that and video is too large.

Did you take it to the dealership? I have the same issue in the 2024 jeep wrangler 4xe. My Jeep is at the dealership and now they are replacing the alternator. There are a lot of issues in the 2024s. Very disappointed with the brand that within a month I got engine issues.

Did they give you any more detail? Your Jeep shouldn't have an alternator.

Naah, thats all they mentioned. Something MGU (which he later explained that its an Alternator).

I'm pretty sure the MGU is the entire battery system. Hope they get you back on the road quickly.

The 4xe doesn't have an MGU or alternator. You should probably ask for clarification. The motor inside the transmission acts as a generator when the ICE is engaged, otherwise the battery pack acts as a pseudo charger.


Anyway, you'd be hard pressed to locate the source of this sound on a 2.0L. They're notoriously noisy.

Did you get any answers? Cause mine is still at the dealership for over a month now, the GM is saying, he is in touch with DSM back and forth, but still they couldn't figure it out what the actual issue is.
