Anyone have any experience with this noise. It’s most noticeable when I’m hitting the gas whether it’s at high speeds or low speeds. The noise is there when rpms go up. It almost sounds like a diesel engine kinda noise. Happens on 2H, 4H and 4L. Whether I’m on a trail or if I am home in traffic, the noise is there. Some people think it may be the driveshaft but it looks good.

I can't tell much from the video, but to me it sounds a bit like clacking valves. Does it increase with rpms?

Yes. Here’s another video from another forum member. Except on this one it happens when they turn the steering wheel. Mine, when I accelerate. Same noise but louder on this video.

That sounds an awful lot like knock, though I am not sure why turning would have an effect on it. I've heard noisy steering pumps, but not like that. If it is easily repeatable, run the fuel tank down to where your range says "low", then try filling up with a tank of the highest octane available and see if it noticeably reduces it. The first video sounds like valves to me, but the second REALLY sounds like preignition/knock. I suppose I could see the power steering having something wrong creating an oddly heavy load on the engine resulting in knock or noisy valves, but it just seems unlikely.

Other things I can think of: Fan hitting a shroud? I assume you checked the main driveshaft, but what about the front? Anything making that noise can't be good, but some things would definitely be worse than others. I'm super curious as to what it is.

You ever figure out the issue here?

Came to the conclusion that it’s a tuning issue. Whenever I put regular gas the noise is there pretty loud. All summer, I’ve been putting premium and no noise. Mine never did that when I turned the wheel tho. Only when I accelerated at about 1500 rpm’s.

Gotcha, I went through the same problem. Recently moved to CO and never have seen octane lower than 87 which they have 85. I filled up due to price of course trying to save some cash and that noise was wild. I thought the engine was lost. I've always filled the JL with 89 or 93 In Texas. Someone on the forum mentioned it so I tried it. To my surprise it worked. I only put premium 91 now. Also decided to go further and replaced all 4 O2 sensors, S-belt, injectors, oil cooler, coils, plugs, balancer. So honestly the fix could've been any one of those too but just followed the 100k "recommendations".

My guess is that you have some carbon buildup in the chambers and it does two things; it increases the compression slightly(or more if bad) and it provides a glowing ember for pre-ignition. You might run some Techron in a tank of gas. I've never used it, but I'd use Techron before I'd put something like Seafoam in there.
