We pre-ordered a Bronco in July of 2020 and ordered it when orders opened in February 2021. I have not heard a single explanation as to why I do not have a Bronco in my driveway or why it doesn’t even have a vin almost 2 years later, that’s why we’re ordering a Jeep instead. 8 months is ridiculous but you also ordered a low production model that’s in high demand. You wouldn’t get it off a lot of you tried and even if you could, you would be slapped with dealer markup out the ass.
I'm not going to get into the entire Bronco fiasco....don't know, don't care. If you want to go there, remember Cybertruck? Announced in 2019....those people are also still waiting for their VINs.

As far as the 392 being a "low production model in high demand" - I disagree. Low production compared to what? A non-392 Wrangler? Toyota Camry? According to another post on this forum, Jeep made 6,417 of MY21 alone and 5,583 of them in MY22. 12,000 in 2 model years does not seem like a low number.

As far as getting it off a lot - there was never a problem getting one from dealer stock (unless you are looking for one in a specific color with specific options and do not want to pay thousands more for options you don't need). The dealer markup was present back in July when I ordered, but most dealers could be talked down to $5K-$8K over MSRP. This is EASILY less money that you are going to pay for today's finance rate of 7% vs. July finance rate of 4% on a 60-mo loan. Fast forward to today, there are 310 392's listed on cars.com. A week ago it was 265 or so. Several dealers I worked with in the past 2 weeks were selling their 392s for MSRP. Pretty much any sane dealer would sell their in stock 392 for MSRP today

High demand? I doubt it there is high demand for an $82K+ Wrangler that gets about 10MPG, with finance rates being over 7% today (will probably hit 8%+ in January). It's a niche market. If demand was so high, there wouldn't be 310 of them sitting unsold.

By the way....it's not too late to get that Bronco. You have 3,761 to choose from :)

Alright, hoss. Back up.

First... ~12K 392s across 2 model years, compared to the total of over 224K MY21 Wranglers (lacking EU data) and over 147K MY22 Wranglers (likely incomplete US data and lacking CAN and EU data)... (thats 12K out of over 371K) is just a little over 3% (probably less once all data is made available).

Yeah, I'd say a model that accounts for just over 3% of the total WHICH WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE FOR 3-4 YEARS OF THE TOTAL JL LIFECYCLE is pretty low production.

For reference, Lamborghini sold and delivered 8,405 cars in 2021. Ferrari delivered 11,155 cars in 2021.

By the way, with a CU that uses the credit bureau that reports my score the lowest (as in 40 points lower than the other two, because fuck that bureau), I just got a 4.24% rate approval on a $92,292 72 month loan (I asked for MSRP; better to get approved for more than I will need).

I’m out! Picked up muh Jeep yesterday! Pretty stoked actually. 64 days from order to delivery at dealership. Pretty fast all things considered. Even the dealership staff was shocked at the speed. Here are the details of my order:

Ordered: 10/12/22
Delivered: 12/15/22
Picked-up: 12/28/22

Placed my order with Chapman in Horsham, PA. My specs:
  • 2023 Willys 2-door (23W Package)
  • Sting Gray with Heritage Tan cloth interior
  • V6/Manual
  • Tow Package
  • Convenience Group
  • Cold Weather Group
  • Hard Top
Selected this dealership based on Ratbert’s spreadsheet. 3% below invoice plus $1000 Jeep incentive. Very smooth ordering process and day of delivery experience with Chapman. Professional, fast and no last minute shenanigans. Really no complaints with the Chapman staff.

That’ll do it for me in this thread. For those still waiting, hang tough Jeep bros. It’s worth the wait!

Finally!! Ordered in July, picked up yesterday. The wait sucked, but as others have said, totally worth it! Dealer honored original order price as well as the $1,000 bonus cash cert I got from Jeep.

Or it could be a case of Jeep screwing up and not procuring enough of some 392-specific parts properly. Or it could even be something more involved, like them putting a pause on 392 production for the remainder or calendar year 2022 due to having to meet some CAFE fleet thresholds (basically the same reason they are delivering 4xEs within a 4-6 weeks of being ordered). Insanely long delivery times do not automatically equal demand. Also don't forget that some people got their 392s delivered within 4 months of ordering, while some others (including myself) waited for over 5 months just to get our of C status.

Mine just updated to built after 27 days in production. I guess they are still working this week after all.
My estimated delivery date is still the same at 1/12/23, about 2 weeks away, though of course I figure it could still change when they actually ship it.
Did you get it yet?
When you do get it drive by Stickney and wave at mine, maybe send me a picture of it so I know what it looks like. ?
Seriously you will pass me Im sure.

This forum is awesome. Learned two new things today. 1. Had to Google "hoss" and 2. You can say "fuck" when posting. I love it!

I think the argument with 392s being only 3% of all JL production is not valid because it's a relative number. Following the same logic, if Toyota decides to offer some one-year "Super Extreme" edition of a Camry and makes 10,000 copies, it will represent about 3% of 313,795 (total number of Camrys it sold in USA in 2021). But it's still 10,000 cars. Yes, it's "low production" relative to the overall Camry numbers, but in the absolute terms anything produced in a quantity of 10,000 does not sound like "low production" to me. With 392s, Jeep already made 12K of them inMY21 and MY22, will probably make another 5K-7K in MY23 and who knows what will happen in 24.

As far as CU....the rate you got is pretty good, but most of these CUs are affiliated with some organizations and/or require memberships, etc., so mere mortals don't always have access to it. If you know a CU that underwrites car loans at 4.24% with no strings attached, definitely PM me.

Mine just updated today. Got an email from JEEP Tracker. No notice from JEEP so far. Maybe the Pizza Tracker team are the only ones who got off for the Holidays. ?

Awesome news to hear.. Its about time..
Pretty soon you and @Victory can both sent me pics of mine in Stickney.. That will be cool!
Any bets both of you beat me out of the gate?
Im betting you will..
I think the only fair bet would be to see who will get their build the closest within the Estimated Arrival Date. I believe yours is still well within the estimate as of now, also.

Now, who of us lives closest to mount a deer cam by the exit gate, so we see who’s JEEP leaves first……..?
