Is it normal to not have a vin after a month?

I’m a 7/8 order and just got my vin the other day but I’m sure the dealer had it for a while and just didn’t tell me.

Call your dealership. They'll have the VIN. Not that you can do anything with it. I ordered July 15th n still have this status.

Your dealer probably has it by now, try reaching out to them. It will not show on the tracker until it's scheduled and you move to D1 status.

I do wonder why they chose not to include the VIN in the tracker payload until D1. I get why they map all of the detailed statuses down to 6 "buckets" so the tracker isn't too complicated, but not sure what they gain by withholding it. There's a spot in the payload to include the VIN, so if it's in their system, why not include it? I suppose we'll never know! ?

I dont know if we can track the rail route, other than some map I saw said that one of the auto carriers has a direct route from Detroit to Denver, so hopefully I am on one of those cars. N/S only goes to Kansas City where it would have to be transferred to Denver - sigh

I emailed my dealer yesterday for an update. This morning I got a reply from the sales manager telling me what I already knew... sorry still stuck in "D" with no build date assigned yet.

But then he wrote "I looked at the other Reign colors and they are all with you in D." I'm not sure if he meant other Reigns ordered from just that dealership or if he's trying to say Reigns aren't moving anywhere (which is clearly not the case as shown on this forum).

Do dealers have access to data nation-wide, or just for their region or dealership?

Has anyone done any analysis on average days in production? Went into production 9 Sep, guessing I should see a "built" any time now....oh the waiting!
