Don't think it's every rail and every carrier
No it's not at the moment. But the deadline on Friday is centered around the Engineers Union, which if they strike, it will affect every carrier. As of right now, it's just affecting certain East Coast rails, as I understand it.

Mine was built 8/31. Tracker still shows ship date is TBD but says estimated delivery is 9/28. Checked with Jeep customer service and they too said waiting to be shipped ?

3 months to the day, from order confirmed to shipping from the Toledo Assembly Plant, my JLURXR is on the train headed to the dealer in St Louis. Hoping there are no railway strike entanglements to slow an otherwise painless wait to get exactly what I wanted but could not find on a dealer lot:

Order processed/confirmed: D status, June 10
Order scheduled: D1 status, July 29
In production: E status, Aug 23
Built: KZ status, Sept 9
Shipped on train: KZM status, Sept 10

Estimated delivery was Oct 10 on the pizza tracker, but updated at dealer to be Sept 30. Not bad at all! Huzzah!

Hi folks, my two doors Wrangler just arrived at dealer’s parking lot. But they contact me to say that since I have not bought tread lightly 30 days ago (they have not mentioned before), they cannot give me the previous price. And they are going to add $1500 to our previous deal. Do you guys have any ideas on that? How can I deal with this? Thanks in advance.

The missing TL discount is understandable. But slapping another $1500 onto the price @ the last second? Have them breakdown what it is that you're paying an additional $1500. See if they're trying to double charge you for the destination fee, maybe? Hell, they might try to justify it as inflationary costs. Congrats on your Jeep!

Dumb question, but is it okay to request/generate the affiliate code at any time? Like, do I need to do that now, or just wait until right before I go to pick up?
I always do it right before. They need it for the paperwork when you are actually purchasing it.

if a deposit was put down, they cannot change the price though they can pull the TL discount.

i would ask for the General Manager and explain if they try that stunt you already have the state attorney general on speed dial (get the AG number off the web and add to your phone contacts just to add to the theater as you whip your phone out and show them) to get their investigation started and that will be going on long after I buy a jeep from someone else. Oh I will also be contacting the owner about how I gave you a chance to get out of this peaceably. eg put their jobs on the line.

I would keep it civil even if finishing with Dirty Harry's "So you got to ask yourself, do you feel lucky? Well do you Punk?" would be a hoot.

Not worth the risk and hassle to the dealership over 1500 bucks.. I expect they will back down.

Again this is why you ALWAYS put down a deposit. It turns the PO into a contract.

Also tell them you are going to call the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and whatever department of consumer affairs office exists in your state. The last thing any entity that deals in consumer finance wants is a consumer protection bureau in their face. Numbers of complaints filed matters to them in myriad ways, including when a potential bank lender or corporate partner does due diligence on them to either lend to them or do a corporate deal. Also tell them you will out them on every forum like this that you can find and name as many as you can. I did this to a Porsche Dealer in Southern NJ once that was trying to get out of honoring my tire protection coverage once because they failed to take whatever pictures and keep whatever evidence they needed to file the claim. Worked like a charm.

My POC(and all, I assume) has a little caveat on the bottom of the document. It states that the above prices are not fixed and are subject to change with or without notice. Putting down the deposit ensures they attempt the sale with you first. Grab your POC n see for yourself. Dealerships CAN promise that price on writing, but it is not the default agreement. In this market, they have no need to cut deals.

Isn't the TreadLightly Discount only 1% off MSRP? So is the dealer not only NOT giving you the 1% off, but they are tacking on an additional $1500? Am I understanding correctly?

If so - the final price may not be certain, but I am nearly certain that they cannot add a market adjustment to the price of the vehicle if you custom ordered it. It may be a state by state thing though. I would 110% push back and elevate your concerns to their management.

I’ve been in production for 9. Not as bad as yours, but I find myself patiently hoping that it means they are taking meticulous care in putting it together! I’m also hopeful I get a call from dealer saying it’s here like some of the other folks on here.
UPDATE: I'm built! Now the wait for shipping begins.

Have you heard from them yet? I haven’t… but I know Renee & Daniel don’t work on Wednesdays so I’m not expecting anything today.
Renee did email me on Thursday (in response to an email I sent) and said that I’d get a welcome email AFTER it arrived and passed PDI.

1% below invoice. The issue is that the OP has not been a member of TL for 30 days yet so cannot generate a control code. The deal was contingent on having a TL code so the dealer could be reimbursed.

Well good to know. I have my TL Code and the dealer I am buying from is giving me additional discounts beyond that. I just need to remain patient! :)
