The problem isn’t the process, its the effects. Let people be frustrated if their experience is different than yours. Especially when you had a 48 hr order-to-scheduled wait period. It is true, you didn't know that bit until weeks later. But pissing on the mob of angry peasants from your ivory tower isn't going to make them feel any less angry, your majesty.?Some of you guys are completely losing your shit.
Here’s what I know, some based on salesman input and some based the videos of Jeeps being built.
They run the Jeeps in batches based on color. Otherwise they would have to change the paint after every vehicle and that means cleaning the guns as well.
They run the Jeeps in batches based on 2 door versus 4 door. 4 door being the most popular option, the 2 doors are run less frequently.
They may run the Jeeps based on model. This would eliminate an error in supply of model specific components. This would also include models with the XR package. Having a Sahara with one XR tire/wheel wouldn’t work and stopping the line for a supply issue won’t work either.
That brings me to the final one. They run the Jeeps based on material/parts supply. If they are missing a component to finish a Jeep, then that Jeep won’t get scheduled to run until they have it.
That’s the best I have as far as scheduling logic with Jeep production. Yes, mine is built and my specs are in my signature. Sting-Gray is a popular color so that probably played to my benefit.
