I sell cars for a living (used). Auto lenders, at least the ones we use, are generally much more lenient. They arent scrutinizing you the way mortgages do. Get the mortgage first. Sounds like theyre telling you a repo is an easy option to lower your debt to get into a mortgage (taken back)??
Generally mortgage lenders will allow an existing car payment, but to me that payment raises your debt to income ratio which may or may not affect the amount you can borrow on a house. Imo the mortgage is priority and the less debt at that time the better. Just my thoughts.

100% get the house first. I used to sell cars (used/new) and now I sell real estate and own/operate an ADA housing company. Mortgage lending is very strict compared to auto lending. I’ve never been asked to show proof of funds or pay stubs when buying vehicles and I’ve had 4 (soon to be 5) brand new vehicles in the last 7 years. If you have good credit and decent income auto loan approval is cake. They run my credit, ask how much im putting down, try to sell my warranties and then I’m on my way out the door with keys in hand. As long as you aren’t up to your eyes in debt you can get a vehicle no problem. Mortgages have debt to income ratio limits, credit history, credit diversity, and employment history checks. They also typically ask for 2+ years of tax returns. I would definitely avoid buying a vehicle then immediately trying to buy a house. If you already have a financed vehicle and then buy a house, auto loan companies will give you another loan assuming you have perfect payment history and little to no revolving (credit card) debt. Installment debt isn’t a bad thing unless you’re financing watches and other ridiculous consumer items.

I believe waiting for the Jeep after its built is the hardest part of all. Especially when some are lucky enough to get shipped within a day or 2 of their build. Glad to see more members here are picking up their new Jeep everyday. Has anyone actually seen theirs's on the transport coming into the dealer?

Ordered a JLUR XR today, 08/31/22.

I went back and forth on XR and color. Almost went with Earl, but decided on plain old Bright White. I’m venturing over from the Toyota world and I’m looking forward to stepping into a Jeep.

The one we're waiting on is our 5th Jeep. We now have a 2020 Gladiator '92 Cherokee and a '87 Comanche with plans to rebuild it one day.

I wonder if the SkyTop is slowing up your build? This happened with the Ford f150’s; folks who opted for for the MacGuffin Package (tm) had to wait forever because the required chips weren’t available.

I ordered the sky one touch and I am in production now. Ordered 6/12, scheduled 7/6, production 8/25
