Fired up to hit EJS again! My goal is to run all the trails eventually - stepping up to 5s this year. Signed up for the following:
  • Hotel Rock, Jax Trax, Porcupine Rim, Wipe-Out Hill, Behind the Rocks (tt), Black Dragon

Just signed up for EJS, was surprised at how many trails were already sold out. Picked Deadman Springs, Fins & Things, and Jax Trax.

Do you think my stock JLUR (with MC skids) will be able to handle Jax Trax?

I think so, but I will be on it for the first time (also stock) that Sunday so Iā€™ll tell you afterwards. :like:

Same here... pickings were slim. Signed up for Hell Roaring Rim, Deadman Springs and Jax Trax.

Last year did Seven Mile Rim and Dome Plateau. Did Fins and Things but not part of EJS.

Iā€™ve done Fins and Things in a SxS but not in a Jeep. Looking forward to it!

Yep, a stock JLUR should be OK on Jax Trax. I did that last year with a friend and there were a couple stock four doors that made it with no issues.

I'll be doing Jax this year with my own JL, on Saturday.

Those who are not getting the trails you want should meet up and do them as an independent group. We had our own group the last time I went (2021?) and we ran every trail we wanted, no problem.

The EJS groups are great, don't get me wrong. But an independent group is fun, too, and much cheaper!

We're building a group to go out there in October, probably from the 12th or 13th to the 22nd.

Iā€™m going for the first time. Very excited. Signed up for a beginner package with Chicken Corners, Spires, and Fins.

Curious to see how I do on 33ā€™s. I have another 15k miles left on theseā€¦

You'll be just fine on 33's on all three of those trails. Enjoy!

As previously mentioned, you'll be fine on 33'". Fins was the 2nd trail I ran and I learned so much about the Jeep on it. Keep an eye out for us, we'll be there as well.

PS Do you know why it's called Chicken Corners?

You'll love those trails and the friends you'll meet! Fins is one of the best of all of the trails in Moab, IMO.

Iā€™ll be there April 3-6 w/ my cousin and our families. Super excited. Weā€™re not planning to do any of the trails w/ EJS group though. I hope that wasnā€™t a terrible mistake šŸ˜Æ

You'll be fine and have more flexibility. You won't have the expert guides, but if you have any experience at all you won't need them. I enjoyed the first time (2015) with guides but had just as much fun the next two trips and saved some money. We did learn a lot from the guides, though. Either way is great.
