I don't think they are that massive, considering everything they have to pack in there. Just kind of widens and flattens a rail that was already there.
I took it as meaning a massive upgrade not size.

As the Wrangler start to become closer to the other manufacturers' offerings with "quiet" and other ?, resale will continue to tank and become a lot less appealing, never really thought I would hear quiet being a factor in the Wrangler, noise factor started with the JK, but the chatter about noise is even worse with the JL.

As it is the JL resale value isn't keeping pace with previous generations, not many people will buy these things used or new.

I for one isn't too interested in newer Wranglers, because you are now getting a lot less for what you are paying vs what the competition will be offering, also Jeep service sucks, which is a huge problem with the JL and moving forward.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for and what you consider competition. The only direct comparison I see is a Ford Bronco. Ford can't offer even a standard Hybrid option (I'd feel too guilty getting 14mpg in the urban driving I do most) or a power top (no garage to store a hard top). Plus, if you have concerns about build quality or dealer service, you aren't going to solve either with a Bronco.

As the Wrangler starts to become more like the Bronco etc, which is happening, that's where the competition will come from, Ford is coming out with a Bronco Hybrid, and they have been longer in the electrification game than Jeep, as it currently is Jeep service is clueless as to how to fix Hybrids, and it seems their techs absolutely do not want to work on Hybrids.

As much as I like the 4xe, at $60K+, I'm looking elsewhere for my next vehicle, and I'm one that have never had any complaints with the Wrangler for 4 generations and 3 decades.

But at this price point, I'm not sticking around, because others do premium and nanny features a lot more reliable and better.

There are pros and cons.
Pros:
Love the wireless CarPlay.
Nice looking front frill and more airflow.
Nice looking dashboard.
Offroad Pages load instantly!

Cons:
While the windshield integrated antenna is cool, it might increase the cost of windshield replacement and possibly increase the delay in delivery.
The plastic box where the rear view mirror connects has a plastic lid that rattles. I managed to dampen it by sticking some strip of felt side of Velcro, greatly reduced the sound but did not completely eliminate it.
This may be unique to my Jeep but when I installed back my Sunrider Top that was on my traded in Gladiator, the mucket seals flat part in the front gets dog eared which might let some water in. I took the Sunrider apart a couple of times and reinstalled it but didn't improve the situation. Placed it on my wife's 2023 Wrangler and it fits without any issues.

I didn't have any mechanical issues with my 4xe. Only mechanical issue I had in 3 years was with the steering damper. Took a couple weeks for the part, but was painless otherwise. My dealer was great with the regular Jeep Wave services.

Yeah, the side airbags are a major upgrade to the overall vehicle's safety. This one feature alone should persuade most people to opt for a 24 over any other JL model year if they can afford to do so. It's really important, I don't know why it took them so long to add them in

Has anyone done a dB test on the impact of the "Premium Cabin" sound deadening yet? I'm curious how noticeable a difference it really is.

I was disappointed they ditched the saddle interior on the 24's...until I saw they're offering a new green option with dash accents. Haven't seen it in person yet but in photos/videos, it looks pretty unique!

In OP's case- newer and less/month, makes total sense. While I really enjoy my 22, I will be moving on when my lease is up. As others have said, the price is at/above some interesting competitors(depending on your use case)- for me, those include the upcoming R2, GX550, new 4Runner, etc. Or I might fully embrace the midlife crisis and combo a 996 Porsche and TJ for less than the cost of a new Wrangler?

My windshield got broken during the shop's pdi test drive had 7 miles on it when I picked it up from the dealer with a cracked windshield dealership paid my local glass shop to replace it and it was stupid money but the glass shop told me they could put in much cheaper non OEM glass if I wanted..the dealership was paying so did not go that route but it is an option down the road. my plastic box/review mirror is solid and does not rattle and neither does my buddies new 24 so might just be bad luck.

Thanks, good to know on the options available for windshield replacement. I live in Vegas and we have dump trucks spill rocks (used in desert landscapes) carelessly on the highway that makes our nearly 90 degrees angled windshield prone to trajectories.

2024 has the antenna in the windshield, so the cheaper non OEM may mean no antenna.

Yep. My comprehensive insurance policy pays for the windshield with a very insignificant deductible. My concern was ready availability of the specialized windshield. Though the OEM is Gorilla glass, not sure if Gorilla is really tougher than a standard one or just hype. Time will tell. :)

The fun will start when these things start hitting the used car market with cheap replacement parts that lack functionality like the OEM.

Used Wranglers already have the problem with being sold with mix matched parts that don't work.

So the thing that gets old with me with Jeep is that the msrp of the base sport 4xe is now the cost of what my decently (hardtop, cold weather package) optioned Sahara 4xe was in '21, and it doesnt even have led headlights. Come on Jeep, at $55k you can make those standard.
