  1. 2021 vs. 2024

baffles me as well, but no seat memory.
  2. 2021 vs. 2024

I didn't have any mechanical issues with my 4xe. Only mechanical issue I had in 3 years was with the steering damper. Took a couple weeks for the part, but was painless otherwise. My dealer was great with the regular Jeep Wave services.
  3. 2021 vs. 2024

I guess it depends on what you are looking for and what you consider competition. The only direct comparison I see is a Ford Bronco. Ford can't offer even a standard Hybrid option (I'd feel too guilty getting 14mpg in the urban driving I do most) or a power top (no garage to store a hard top)...
  4. 2021 vs. 2024

I don't think they are that massive, considering everything they have to pack in there. Just kind of widens and flattens a rail that was already there.
  5. 2021 vs. 2024

My wife drives my Wrangler a lot - makes the transition so much easier. Think we've had this on every car we've had the last 20 years.. Agree - missed opportunity. Not even the power mirrors are tied to the profiles. Seem like easy wins.
  6. 2021 vs. 2024

No, dealers in the Boston area have tons of inventory. One reason I like the High Altitude is that it comes standard with everything that's optional on the Sahara (except they did make a mid-year change to make the Skyslider optional, which isn't reflected on the Jeep.com site yet). So, you...
  7. 2021 vs. 2024

Just traded in my early build 2021 4xe Sahara for a 2024 4xe High Altitude and figured I would share my experience so far. The Sahara was a fully loaded model w/ the Skyslider and all option packages, so very similar to the new High Altitude in terms of features. First, some comments on the...
  8. Steering Damper Issues?

As luck would have it, dealer finally got the part and called me earlier today. Going to try the warranty (free) option for now, but if this happens again, might try the Fox option. Mind sharing how much it ran you?
  9. Steering Damper Issues?

My 2021 Sahara 4xe with just over 20k miles started to develop and violent shudder through the steering wheel when cruising around 75 and hitting any highway imperfection. Have to slow down 5-10 mph to get it to stop. Started a few months ago and getting worse. Dealer said it's a well known...
  10. Curious - where are there suddenly so many 4xE new Jeeps around when they are more expensive than regular Jeep

The difference in 2024 is $10k for the Rubi and if you lease, you still get the $7500 tax credit. That $2500 difference is well worth it in my opinion. Name me another powertrain upgrade that nets you an additional 105hp and 175lbs/ft of torque for that $$. It takes another $30k to get 95...
  11. You guys are full of $@&% or lying - MPG

4xe Sahara on stock wheels/tires: Cruising around 75mph in e-Save (always keep in charge mode too, as I like to have some battery for when I get off highway): 22mpg (even packed to the gill with bike or ski racks) City driving in Hybrid mode w/battery depleted: 19-20 mpg City driving EV range...
  12. Am I Being Idiotic (trade in or no)?

A bad lease is a bad idea. A good lease can be a good idea. Just make sure to negotiate on the price before you talk financing. If your net cap cost is the same as the purchase price and the points equate to a market rate interest rate, it's like having a free "option" to opt out at the end of...
  13. Electric Wrangler confirmed

Toyota is using their PR machine to oversell their commercialization of solid state batteries, as they have fallen behind in EV development and needed a distraction. I'd bet other players bring solid state to the masses before Toyota.
  14. Electric Wrangler confirmed

The only thing that disappoints me is Stellantis' reluctance to adopt the Tesla/NACS plug. It"s a done deal, get on board. I am not going to drop $90k on a Wagoneer EV in 2025 if it doesn't have NACS. Hope they come around soon so it's available at launch....
  15. Electric Wrangler confirmed

Not sure why everyone gets so fired up about this. Literally every hybrid that exists now can use either or both its electric motors or ICE to provide propulsion. Yes, that includes the few "series hybrids" that exist, like the Volt or Outlander - in both cases, the ICE can have direct...
  16. Why the 3.0 is better than the 392

I live in Boston and see similar results. Worst case I have seen is 20 miles, but that's winter (with the energy intensive electric coil heat on) driving on the highway. Most of my driving is frequent, short trips in the city where I always get upper 20s in range without trying. It's been...
  17. Why the 3.0 is better than the 392

I get 22-23 cruising at 75 in my 4xe Sahara. Oh, and it would blow the doors off of your diesel.
  18. Future Jeep plans revealed, including next-gen J70 Wrangler EV / REPB!

Not quite....the Volt offered 1/3 the EV range (oh, and it did still have a parallel hybrid mode that was used on the highway on range extending mode).
  19. Advantage of Rubicon, if there any, over Sport or Sahara, winter driving.

I have a '21 Sahara 4xe with the LSD. I agree that the LSD can kick out the rear in a turn if you aren't careful, but I have found that to be lessened by running in 4wd part-time in heavy snow. That locks the center diff. In full-time mode, I think it's too eager to route extra torque to the...
  20. Who will switch to the Hurricane engine when it replaces the 392?

I was comparing the spacing to the 392. With a bore almost an inch greater on each cylinder, I'd bet that is the case, but I'll admit I have not found a direct answer.
