I just had a dead battery today and thought what if the new one was bad. Luckily it wasn't. Sorry your new battery was bad.

Many people report losing their back up camera for 24-48 hours after a battery swap or power disconnect but it should come back. There may be something in the owners manual regarding changing units from Celsius back to Fahrenheit.

??? That makes no sense. Anyone know what would cause this issue? I could see it taking a few mins to sync back up, but 1-2 days doesn't make sense to me.

My time line may be off. Going back through old threads it seems like it’s more frequently reported to be within 24 hours. I am not an expert but have been told if Uconnect is rebooted (fuse pulled or batteries disconnected), it can take up to 24 hours for it to reload and work normally.

uconnect stuff downloaded through the air is subject to time, reception quality (slower in the garage), and big system load issues.

I was curious if it was related to going through one or more “sleep cycles” to reboot?

Just switched mine last month. The camera was gone for less than 24 hours but that’s how long it sat before i restarted it. Or…maybe it won’t happen to you 🤞

Interesting. Swapped the new battery in and reverse camera worked without issue. Was without battery for ~60 mins.
