That was the biggest benefit on our diesel trucks too. I like hearing the turbo whine.<<SNIP>> It did, however, give a decent whine to the supercharger that wasn't there before. That was cool.
Of course, at the time I had myself convinced that the performance and economy were improved too. I was sure I felt the improvement... Sheesh. I felt felt very foolish when I saw the independent test reports and verified them (kinda) with my own unscientific study on our trucks.
It's hard for consumers who are trying to make smart decisions, because they are swimming upstream against tens of millions of dollars in advertising, racing sponsorship, and sponsored internet posts. They pretty much overwhelm the honest engineers who conduct the testing for the science.
