I am wondering if anyone has run into an issue with your jeep throttle when on a steep incline in 4wd?

The situation: I was at the sand dunes and when I tried to climb a dune in 4wd, with my foot on the floor - the throttle cut out and all power was gone. I tried it in 4L, 4H, in manual 2 in manual 3. On two occasions it kicked the transmission into neutral and in one occasion it got kicked from 3 to 2.

Note: I have climbed these dunes before without any issues. The only difference is that I have been reheared to 5.13 and upgrades the axels since then. I'm told that should not cause the throttle to do this.

I took it to my mechanic and he didn't know what was going on so I'm taking it to the dealership to run diagnostics.

Was hoping someone had insight so I don't get a run around.

Thanks!

Was your vehicle subsequently flashed/programmed for the change in gears? If no, that's likely the cause of your issues.

Interesting that you asked because I plugged in my super chip after and it didn't look like my gears were updated so I it. After I did that I noticed a difference on how it was driving on pavement. I have been wondering if that could be the case but have been unable to get a definitive answer.

Whoever installed your new gears should have either updated/flashed the vehicle for them or told you that you needed to do so.

And yes, that is the definitive answer. The vehicle needs to be told about the new gears or it won't drive properly on or off road.
