Hi all, first post! I too am looking at new 2018 Sahara's for the sole reason that they are in my price range. I am looking to lease as well. My question:
1. If I do get an 18, I should get at least 17 - 20% off of MSRP? Or should that be 17-20% off invoice?

For instance, I am looking at a 2018 Punkin that has an MSRP of 49090 and the dealer is asking 43733. 17% below MSRP would be 40745. Am I figuring right? Thanks!

You should to have a quick discussion with the finance folks if you're thinking of leasing a 2018. I could be completely wrong, but they may very well have discontinued lease support for 2018s. Even if they are still leasing, the residual values are probably terrible compared to what they were (RV comes out at the highest it will ever be when a model is brand new, then tends to drop as the time goes by...e.g., if it starts at 67% a few months later it might be down to 65% and then the low 60's). You may be better off with a newer Jeep that has a higher RV (and still has a decent discount off MSRP) vs. a 2018 heavily discounted but with a terrible RV.

My 2 cents. I bought an 18 a month ago for more than $10k off sticker. SAME vehicle as a 2020 when I’m ready to sell, if I ever sell it, the difference will be very minimal. I don’t understand the logic of not getting the same car for possibly 5-10k off just to have a 2 year newer same Jeep. That no one will care about in a few years.
Yea I agree with your thoughts. Despite a few startup issues overall the vehicle launched well. Granted there are still some steering issues, and whatnot that needs to be ironed out, but 5 years down the road the difference between 2018, and 2020 will be negligible.

My 18 was an October build normally that’d be the next model year JK/JL 18 made the 18 run longer so it was Only 7 months old. Fingers crossed on no issues, none so far ✌
FWIW Mine was built in Sept 2018, purchased it in Oct 2018 and it's been fine since then! I'm pushing just over 19K miles.

Straight from the dealer. Talking to them about their advertised "discount".

They are taking the MSRP, subtracting the "discount" and then adding the freight charge back.

MSRP is the number most refer to.

(i.e. I got ~15% off MSRP, which is ~10% below invoice)

Okay...... I just want to say MOST of the issues you see here are on the 2018 JL. They have corrected a lot of the issues therefore you cant really say the 2018 and 2020 will be the same vehicle. Yes, you'll get a great discount, but you will have your Jeep in the shop for a multitude of warranty repairs. Granted, If you are going to mod the F' out of your new jeep with all new suspension, then by all means get get the 2018. You'll save a bunch of $$$ Keep in mind people have radio and nav. issues and weird codes on their 2018s. My humble opinion is the first run editions will have a lot more bugs than the third generation (2020s). Knock on wood, I have zero issues on my 2019 JLUR. GM

I've been checking out their site, and they seem to have some of the best prices in the area. Was that the advertised price, or were you able to get them to come down some more? Thanks!

I have been emailing dealers for a few days now in and around New England area and none of them are going much over 10-15% off MSRP with most of them being about 10-12% for colors and trim I really like. I have seen a few $50K+ Sahara’s for $7-8K off. But I don’t want a $42-43K Sahara with a bunch of options I don’t really care about.

They are not budging much off MSRP on a 2019 either unless you qualify for military or affiliate.

They have all told me Jeep Corporate is not offering many incentives right now.

If you are in new England,. Contact Mark at Fitzpatrick's ([email protected]). Not sure what he can do on in stock models, but he is more than fair with pricing on custom orders.

I have bought from Dave Smith in Idaho in the past. Noticed "Way of Life " on YouTube have bought a few Jeeps from Peterson in Idaho. Not sure which options/colors your looking at. The very least you can ask your local dealer to price match. Example is 2019 4dr, hardtop with cold weather group at $32k. One caveat buying out of State; typically nullifies your State Lemon Law's.

Thanks I did, and he is a very nice guy. I just missed the group buy but he told me he could do 4% under invoice on a 2020. I am going to be patient. I think in a few months once 2020's start hitting dealer lots, Jeep will be forced to offer bigger incentives on remaining 2018's and 2019's. I would like to get $10K off a 2018 and $5-6K off a 2019 if possible.
