I'll start by saying that I intend on eventually getting a lift/wheels and 35's, but I have to save up for that. I was thinking of putting some hubcentric 2" wheel spacers behind the stock rims and tires for now to stance it out a bit and add some 35" shoes. Would this work, or is this a really bad idea? Why?

I've read so much back and forth on why or why not it's fine.
More often than not everything says it's a bad idea. Why? You're adding unnecessary extra pressure on the axle shafts and the hubs. Better to save up and just get wheels with proper offset that will give you the poke you're looking for.

That said, if you don't every plan to really go off-roading with it, particularly the rock banging type, it's probably much more fine.

Essentially from all the things I've read:
Mall Crawlers - yay
Rock Crawlers - nay

I technically wouldnt fall into either category. Yes, it is my daily driver and will spend much of its time on-road due to the fact that I work 80 hours a week, but I also do go off-road camping. I am not much for the straight up heavy duty rock crawling, its just not my thing. I much prefer the overland style.

I add 2" wheel spacers because I wanted some poke and a more aggressive stance. I have a 2020 2dr Rubicon and stock rims/tires. I can not justify spending money on rims that would give the same look. I have driven it up to the Black hills and wheeled on a bunch of Forest service roads. Image is after install.

I like the vintage Feed Store sign and rifle hanging in the garage. Are your tires 33's or the XR 35's? Looks good either way. Thanks for showing me what it would look like. Thats helpful.

You know what else will give you some “wheel Poke”? KBD fenders…. Cheap and awesome.

33's, stock Rubi rims and fenders, 1.5" Spidertrax spacers. After putting on the fenders (which stick out more than the originals), the tires looked too far in so I went with the spacers.

Good looking rig.
Thanks. After I got it modded the way I wanted it, the wife took a shine to it. It's hers now. (I ended up with a 23 Jeep Beach HT.)?

Funny how that happens.

My wife is always giving me shit for buying my '23 JLURD because it's unreliable and it's gonna break and fuel is more expensive and it's stupid to buy something just to modify it and spend even more money on it... And yet her Toyota Lovin' ass drives it more than I do. ?
