According to previous speculation the rubicon had a different vent design for the 2lt engine, but the yellow 2lt rubicon at the show had the same design..

My money says they settled on one. It makes no manufacturing $ense to have two different hood designs, unless the function requires it, or one is an extra cost option. I think the one you see on the yellow zonker is the final design. The Jeeps in New Zealand were some of the late pilot production units tht were probably 98% representative of the final design.

Yeah, I noticed that the other day. I don’t know if they pulled the option, or if there is another determining factor.

Initially I thought it was just a one-off for the Hella Yella special edition which also had non-standard Rubi rims, etc. But then the TFL guys also show their 2.0T test JLU in Arizona with the same louvres instead of mesh.

Also odd, in that TFL video in the post, the underside of the hood is sound/heat insulated, but that also blocks the vent holes, which are already small to begin with.
