gotta read! cubby is an additional thing you lose, the issue is putting the speaker in the middle of the cargo area.

I don't want a speaker in the middle of my cargo area, its stupid period. I use the back of my vehicle alot, it will be smashed, full of sand and boxer debris.

I spilled an entire bottle of soda directly into the Alpine weatherproof sub in my 2015 JK right after I got it... just unscrewed it, brought it in the house and washed it out with the shower head. Let it dry and have never had a problem with it. Those subs are really hearty.

That's a lame reason for passing on the Alpine in regard to a 2 dr.

Yes, you lose the little cubby storage area.

You can stack crapola on top of the floor Alpine which is shielded/protected. Sure it will impair the Alpine output while it is covered over but that is only temporary.

YES, back seat out and the back of the JL will hold lots. 4 very large totes and more.

Agree. Why would you pass the Alpine? That has a sweet design. Just pack lightly!

this has some shots of ours loaded up and with the Alpine covered by an ice chest. we did a test of the sound and actually thought it sounded better with the ice chest in than it did with it out. go figure? it really uses the truck as its box.

I was not sure so I asked Jeep Cares about the acoustic windshield. They confirmed and re-confirmed ALL model JLs have the acoustic windshield now. The ANC is a nice bonus with the Alpine.

Does anyone here have the usable dimensions of a jl 2 door cargo area? I’m not the greatest with my measurements and would really like to get my custom speaker box perfectly snug to tailgate. Height width and length including contour with seats down? I’m not good at this kind of stuff. Can do anything to the car but this I do not have patience for

Thank you. That helped slightly but I went out and measured the space with guidance from the person making my enclosure and it was more like 13.77 inch of space. Seat to tailgate without pushing the back of the seat. Which is basically my jl audio dual 10 bass wedge. Fits like a glove with a little bit of wiggle room. So I sent him the dimensions of that box with pictures of it installed.
