Is there a 2 door soft top, either factory or aftermarket, that folds flat? (like JK's and previous models)

Thank you

I wish, I would buy one if there was, even if it wasn’t as quiet or solid as this new one, it’s just over engineered and looks terrible.
I actually bought a second one to take apart and try to build something out of it I like better and haven’t had the time. I’ll probably sell it since I just use a mesh top instead and now have two soft tops sitting in my shed.

Nobody can convince me the factory JL soft top is an improvement over the factory JK soft top.

Agreed. The new design is a solution looking for a problem. When the top is down it eats up so much of the precious cargo area behind the rear seat, yet still sticks way up above the tub. I'll take zippers and a top that lays flat any day.

I agree I preferred the fold flat ability of the JK, but I have the windows out most of the summer and really dig the safari mode, especially with the doors off, thats my preferred way to cruise...

I agree, safari mode is sweet.
If you are worried about aesthetics, it's only 4 bolts to remove the whole soft top. Weather permitting, that's the way to go.

It's not about aesthetics. It's about losing space to do what every other generation before it did better.

Are there a lot of folks trying to convince you, or maybe one person trying really hard? I know that any soft top that doesn't offer a safari mode is worthless. I don't know if the JK did that, but if it didn't no one can convince me it was worth anything at all.

You're not wrong. But the improvements with this top outweigh that one downside IMO. Coming from a YJ, the current top is a revelation. Never had a JK.

+10

As much as I liked my YJ, the top was its weak link. It was well and truly noisy at 45 mph and above, meaning regular conversation eventually became functionally impossible.

All these years later, I'm still sometimes a little amazed at how [comparatively] silent the top is on my JL-gen Wrangler, unless it's observably windy, when driving at virtually any speed that the local roads allow. If that means the top has a somewhat bulky profile when folded, so be it. The improvement is well worth it.

I used to run my 09 JK 2dr with the windows out all summer, in pseudo safari mode, but those back sail panels flap around, less open, less than ideal. I'll take the JL ST any day...
