Ha ha I’m not much of a namer, I guess... Just give us a few days to get better acquainted! :)

All right, here are a few early impressions!

- The backseat is already out, and it’s not coming back... The rear felt a bit cramped with my recreational gear piled up, but without the backseat it seems perfect.
- I love, love, love the Turbo so far. I haven’t driven on highways yet (and will try not to push too hard for the first couple hundred miles), but it feels great on local roads and mountain roads. Really smooth, responsive and downright fun. It feels like it has quite a bit of power in store - again I haven’t pushed it yet, but it feels really effortless and like it has plenty of acceleration in reserve.
- The cabin feels so quiet and civilized!!! I know this may be blasphemy to some Jeep purists, but I’m really enjoying this. I have the hardtop headliners, the Alpine with active noise cancellation and the Turbo: I am not sure which of those theee factors is contributing the most, but I’m loving the end result. Has a Jeep ever been described as... serene? ;)
- The Infotainment is freakin’ awesome. The sound is markedly purer and clearer than in my previous vehicle, which was already decent (2015). Very noticeable difference. I could listen to similar quality in my living room without feeling shortchanged. The screens also have plenty of gadgets - I haven’t really played with them yet, but it’s pretty spiffy.
- A silly little thing: I’m having fun opening and closing the trunk. Yet another thing to remind me that this is not a car!
- Still trying to figure out a graceful way to get in and out of my Rubicon when I’m wearing a skirt. Work in progress! If any lady Jeeper here has some good tips... ;)

Lastly, I saw two deers on the golf course at dusk and thought of TJ’s recent pic (mine is sub-par, sorry - by the time I stopped enjoying the sight and remembered to grab my iPhone they had already moved further away).

Thanks Alex! As far as skirts and tight pants, the handle bar and using your arms to raise yourself to the chair works best for me. I’m 5’4’, and step is too high to just jump up. If I don’t use the grab bar, I find myself using the steering wheel, and that’s a no-no for me. But...once I’m up...I fell like the queen of the world!

Welcome

Welcome back, Melissa! So sorry to hear about your mother, may she Rest In Peace. My heart goes out to you and your family.
My mom also died yesterday, at the venerable age of 95. Had an amazing , long life, and we were blessed to have her die of really, old age, at home, with family around.
My heart goes out to you, Cristina. An inevitably painful loss, but this is a wonderful perspective, and the ideal way to conclude a long, happy life. You and your family are in our thoughts.

Hmm.... that might need to do for me, unless I come over and have you help me, John! If a hand held is reasonable for a trail run, that might be sufficient for me.
It's adequate. It is inferior to many other options but requires absolutely no drilling. In CB's, size matters, well antenna size anyways. So it won't reach out as far but you can talk to the rig in front of and behind you, thats adequate.

It might just be a backyard in the country, but technically it was Vida’s first time off roading!

It was not at all an attempt at actual off roading. Lol. I just drove her down to my dad’s garage.
We’ve had lots of rain lately so the grass is quite bright! Plus I’m sure the camera added some tinge as well.

I know how you feel, I am getting the urge to drive through a field or find a rock to climb up on!

Alex, I've got a pair of Mopar front grab handles that I'm not gonna use. I had them on mine but didn't use them cuz I'm 6'4". They're yours for the asking. Call it a Jeep warming gift. Just PM me the shipping address & I'll even pay the freight. Enjoy!:)

well... just rig in front and behind... can’t talk to the third one over? That might not be sufficient for a Jeep caravan!
