Been looking at maps a bit today and Sunflower mines sounds intriguing, any Phoenix folks interested? Apache Trail looks like a scenic drive too, but its just a dirt road.

I herd sunflower trail is closed.
Apache is a just a single road from canyon lake to Roosevelt lake

Have you looked at the back way to crown king

Also go to saguaro lake to butcher Jones it a huge play ground lots of climbs in out of the coves to the lake

I Lived in Phoenix for a few years, Apache trail by fish creek canyon will make you pucker a bit, especially if your a tad afraid of heights and dying like I am

looks promising and very popular. any known camping? we are not fond of the pay camps and prefer to boon-dock. ill acquire maps soon, but we need to get out of here asap lol like friday high noon hahahaha this place makes dirt time a need not want.

I not sure about camping. I was up there last weekend it’s a cool little community my girlfriend flys in Friday night I think I’m going to rip the top off and head for Sedona and do Broken Arrow Trail and take her to see devils bridge, then possibly go camp in marshal lake south of flagstaff camping is free there. Then hit up cinder hills Sunday

I not sure about camping i was up there last weekend it’s a cool little community my girlfriend flys in Friday night I think I’m going to rip he top off and head for Sedona and do broken arrow. Trail and take her to see devils bridge

I have only been here a year but most of what I have found is from mountain biking in Sedona, flagstaff and surprise now that I have my Jeep here I’m trying to play catch up haha. Another lineman I work with has two decked out jk’s He has been pushing me to go trailing with them but they get in to some pretty hairy stuff. Sedona will only see about 84 degrees and low of 60’s and just get better further north from there.

how about the second hand store? walmart? kinda uppity here, bound to have something usable without breaking the bank like REI, not everyone needs a $35 coffee cup :P

Haha so true I just have a back packer set from them, the’re sure proud of there stuff and yes scottsdale is uppity I do know Arizona hiking shack will rent out full camping sets for a weekend. I have herd good stuff from them there more a local store.

He’s good! Had a little bout of homesickness (I think) this week, but he’s bounced back. My friends are coming this weekend to visit & pick him up. It’s going to be quiet & lonely at my house next week!
