Urge to replace PST with hard top rising...
Why? A hardtop only setup ruins summer. If it's because of delays, go standard softtop, and go spend the savings on something

I wanted the hard top to get it all wired up from the factory. I plan to get a safari top in a few years but I want the option to switch back and forth whenever I want. So the hard top made the most sense.

I have a double winch set up in the garage to pull the 2 tops off and store them in my garage, I just need to get rid of a Jeep to bring a new one aboard. I like having a hard top for a few months of really lousy weather.

Sounds good to me, dude! I’ll chill and wait. When you look at trouble forums, being down the line somewhere may be ok.
Indeed, best way to look at our wait is the 4 door buyers were kind enough to work out kinks for us!
We are simply waiting for our premium versions! :O

Now I am back to thinking if I want to get one of the crazy new colors like mojito or Nacho, or just go for a classic drop dead gorgeous red. too many good choices.

Be cool and go for one of the fun colors. The world needs cars in colors other than Resale Red or grayscale

There may be good choices, but the correct one is Punk’n.

So, I’m at the hotel bar up in automotive country. I meet a guy and we get to talking, he works for Chrysler and is in town working on some conveyor lines. I told him I ordered a JL 2 door in Jan and have been experiencing delay after delay. Of course I ask him if he knows anything about the JL line at the Toledo North plant. He gives me an awful look saying “good luck with that”. He goes on to say that the changeover has sees some significant issues. I tried to press without seeming like an a-hole but he wouldn’t elaborate. Doesn’t instill a lot of confidence.

I was really scared you were gonna say that he said, "Good luck with that, didn't you know... they are using peanut butter to weld the frame and track bars on"

Jeep engineer, circa 2016:

"You guys, I've found a place where we can save ten dollars per unit on manufacturing costs. You know the frames and track bars? Well, what if we...."

Hello all hopefuls and nay sayers, my Dealer called today and said that my (any my wife's) Jeep Wrangler 2 Door Sport is boxed up in Toledo and on its way to PDX. It is taking the train, so no firm delivery date yet, but did want to instill hope and belief in FCA's capacity to get the job completed and get the two doors out to waiting customers. My longest wait has been since the first of April, so I'm pretty stoked to be more than just imagining myself in one of the header photos. Others who are in similar situations will probably get their 2 door sooner, there is a lot of track between us at this point.
