i believe that gobi will update their quick release roof rack for jl some time this year, can’t find the link to the old one for jk, but google gobi roof rack for jeep soft top and you’ll find videos showing how it works, seems perfect

that’s what i was talking about in an earlier post - estimating only 5-10k orders for 2 doors , which should pump through in under two weeks or so - does not include estimate of additional 40-50 thousand to dealers in coming months (at rate of 6-7k per week, which lets them wrap up before september)

The problem with that thinking, production of 5-10k 2 door orders in under two weeks; I don’t believe they will concentrate on just 2 door production. They will continue to pump out 4 doors as well.

I ordered my Sting Gray, 2 door, black hardtop, LED on 3/26. I don’t foresee my vehicle arriving at my dealer until around July at the earliest.

I've had it planned out forever--I'm gonna get Blondie or similar girly music on the radio and drive to Starbucks for a frappucino, after taking the softtop down right on the damn dealer lot. It'll be a special day.

ive been communicating directly with an executive at FCA inside the jeep wrangler brand. today, this person checked my VIN and VON and confirmed that:

a) two door production is already underway

b) premium soft top orders will not begin until second week of may. that’s what i ordered (no hard top)

the person is a strong and reliable source and privy to key details of wrangler activity. also of interest: the jeep marketing group is entirely aware of this particular forum thread, and they have been following it from afar.

also talked to my dealer today and pestered him to talk to his FCA rep who double-confirmed two door production but had no insight into premium soft top dates.

based on this, i anticipate receiving my new jeep 2 door premium soft top in early to mid june. i’ve waited this long - since january - so what’s another 6-8 weeks? bummer since i now have to ride a scooter until it arrives, or drive my wife to work, but whatevs...

Well, you drive a scooter, I drive an 98 Isuzu with the wipers stuck to “on”. (And it is dry in Georgia, but here I go through town with them on!lol)
God is watching us, probably with more affection than the marketing group. They are watching, but so???
I’m not mad, but resigned AND determined to wait it out. I’m getting my ocean blue sooner or later!

Dude, that sucks so bad, but I could not stop laughing picturing that. It will all be worth while when you get your new Jeep.

Was in D1 since 3/20...things are moving now

Number one your assuming production of 2 drs started 4-9, no one has proven that's a fact yet. Number 2 patience is one thing , but the complete bungling of the jl roll out, and lack of communication is something else entirely , considering the fact that it only took me 4 weeks to get my 2014 rubi , and i'll be lucky to get my 2018 rubi in 4 months , and we see how Fca completely dropped the ball on this one. some people on this thread ordered in jan. and wont get their jeeps till june, having to wait a half a year for a car order is insane!
