All depends what on your personal preference... Me..personally I would go with the 8.5, tighter tuck, less crap on the sides & rear fender, better scrub radius.

The JL/JLU Rubicon's can handle more backspace with the wider axles. AEV is the first to start to provide increased backspace on their new line-up of wheels. Hope other (beadlock) manufacturers start to offer more options.

Thanks I'm leaning towards the 8.5 i know its only 3/4 poke less but my luck that extra 3/4" would throw some rock my way just wasnt sure on the backspace

I was looking at the same setup for my JLUR MR312 @ 8.5 w/ 35" tires. Did you install your wheels? If so, are you experiencing any rubbing?

Just ask @cosine he knows!
You'll have a bit better contact patch w/ the slightly wider 9" running 315s. I went w/ 17x8.5 +10 on 295/70/17s since I don't want any fender poke. Look forward to your setup, those Method sets are a nice choice!

Do you have a pic of your Jeep with this setup? I was thinking of going with the exact combination but I too do not want any finger poke

AEV wheels should be out soon???, but they will give you the most backspace and eliminate any POKE.

FYI... AEV has/is developing new wheels that are developed specifically for the JL's new configuration and measurements.
